Good Morning, My friend Tracy, who refuses to read this board, had surgery in April of 2009. She was a 3C and had 6 treatments of Carbo/Taxol. She had the same surgeon as LeesaG and me, at the same hospital. Her CA-125 never went below 25. She had a CT Scan last week and now has a tumor on her bladder. It makes me so mad.…

Treatment prescribes was IV chemo 1 day and then skip 3 weeks and then repeat 2 more times (total 3 treatments, 9 weeks). Then complete hysterectomy and removal of ovaries after…

St. Patty's Day Question :)
Ok, it's not green, but my nurses have told me that one glass of red wine is okay during my 1/21 day carbo/taxol regimen. I'm just curious about what other health professionals have told us. (One of my friends told me to ask if 1 glass of red was ok, could I substitute 2 glasses of white! LOL) Happy St. Patrick's Day to…

First Chemo
Ok, just a quick update. First chemo was uneventful. Benadryl made me very loopy and sleepy ;) I did get my CA125 results. I'm a bit conflicted.... It was 9824 before surgery and has only dropped to 7000 after surgery. Also, CT showed a 1.5 cm nodule on peritoneal wall. Doctor M. still seems confident that we can beat this…

A "funnish" thread: What do you do to relax/pass the time during chemo treatments?
We had the cancer book thread a while back, I thought I'd start a new one for just plain fun stuff or relaxing stuff that we can do during our marathon chemo treatments, or during those days when we don't feel like doing anything too energetic. I just placed a Barnes and Noble order for several trashy novels including the…

My CA is 6.1 :-D finally!!!!
Hi, everyone, Wanted to let you know that my treatments are complete, and my CA is now 6.1 (3.5-17.0 is the scale). Dancing with NED
I am officially in remission, per my gyn/oncologist. CT scan was normal. CA125 is 13. I start maintenance chemo (reduced dose of Taxol only, monthly infusions for one year) on the 24th. He sent me downstairs for a mammogram, since I have not had one in several years, but my breast and pelvic exams were normal. Carlene
