Anyone else get an email about the Dr Oz show?
They are taping a show about ovarian cancer in Manhattan, on May 14th. Unfortunately, I will be in NYC on the 11th, so I won't get to participate. You can send in your photo for the slide show, though. Or, if you live near Manhattan, you might contact them, if you're interested. Here is a cut-and-paste of the text I…

Hello- I am new here
I am unfortunatly a newly diagnosed ovarian cancer pt. I am having surgery on Monday 5/9/11 at UK hospital in Lexington, KY. I have been reading some posts, and I have to say there is a lot of support and love here. All my gyn/oncology told me yesterday has just flown out of my head. It was too much for me to hear. I am…

I am curious because I am in carboplatin/ taxol mx and I am taking chemo really well for the most part. I go once every 3 weeks for 6 rounds total. I have 3 down and 3 to go. I did devlope acne and got tired after…

I'm also on the Topotecan and have not been feeling well, I'm extremely tired because my blood counts keep going down. I'm on a treatment plan that is 1x a week, 3 weeks in a row, but don't know if that's going to…

I am telling on my sister!
I have been NED for 21 months now. My younger sister was just told she has a growth on her Uterus and will need a hysterectomy and a biopsy. We are adopted so there are no Genetics between us and we have no medical history. ( our records are sealed in the state of California) I am writing this to let you know that little…

Hi- This is the first time I am writing. My 62 yr. old mother was just told she has Primary pappilary serous peritoneal carcinoma. I think this is how you say it. It starts in the ovaries. Her ovaries are swollen but it is not present there. It is on her omentum, a little in her stomach, some in her colon, some touching…

Kidney Stones?
I am being treated for a UTI...the doctor is concerned about kidney stones. Is this another lovely door prize from chemo? Has anyone out there had kidney stones after chemo? On a side note: it is, (in a super weird way), nice to go to a doctor for a "normal" ailment and get a prescription that cost $00.87! Odd, eh? Mary

Libby's Update
My update from app't yesterday. Stopped Doxil as CTscan showed disease progression - ascites & 5mm (very small) spot on Peritoneal in upper abdomen. With rise in last CA125 this tells my doctor that Doxil is not working, so since I am in a clinical trial I have to stop the doxil. We have elected to cross over to the PARP…

PET Scan tomorrow, possible recurrence.
I started feeling bloated and fatigued a couple of months ago. For approximately one year my CA-125 has been 5 or 6. I was diagnosed stage 3b February 1, 2010. Before surgery my CA-125 was only 72. I had an optimal de-bulking surgery on that date. I completed six rounds of chemo: Taxotere and Carboplatin. Then I was given…

My mom's surgery is this Thursday
My mom's surgery for her ovarian cancer is this Thursday at 11:00 am central time. I'm very worried. The gyn/onc said he's not doing the surgery to prolong her life, as her cancer was already spread, but rather, to keep her from extensive bleeding later on. Never have heard such a thing. I asked him if he found it in the…

Gemzar chemo - to take or no to take?t
I am living with ovarian for the last three years. Had Taxol, Carbo,Doxil, and now they are suggesting Gemzar. Doxil made me horribly sick and the tumors worse, so stopped after only two courses, and now, after two months, am still recovering. Read on Gemzar that it may makes you even sicker: Kidney and lung infections,…

I have no marker with the CA125 test
I have no CA125 test as a cancer marker. I had a test done last July and it came back 7. My gyn. said it looked like nothing wrong but sent me for a ultra sound inside and outside. That showed that my uterus was a bit thick and he suggested that I have a D&C and a lapro. surgery. When they got in with the lap. they found…

CA125 Rising after chemo
This is a big topic on this discussion board but I did not see anything specific to my question. Diagnosed last June, Stage 3C. My Bucket List
This is my FaceBook post for today. I thought I'd post it here for those who don't FaceBook. . Before I go, I'd like to have high cheekbones. I'd like to talk less like New Jersey, and more like Claire Bloom. And whenever I enter a room, I'd like an orchestra to burst into my theme song. I'd like to have a theme song…
