Surgery Done- UPDATE
My husband went in yesterday for his VATS on the RUL. They were able to remove the tumor/upper lobe with the robot, but there were cancer cells hanging out on his bronchus so they had to revert to a thoracotomy and cut the bad piece out of his bronchus and stitch the ends together. They were able to get NEGATIVE MARGINS so…

Pulmonary fibrosis following lung radiation treatments.
I underwent 36 radiation treatments following a left upper lobe resection for sclc which hadn't responded to chemo. Hullo and again; Thank all of you for all your good thoughts and wishes. After living through the CAT I went to visit my Rad-Onco doc for the results> she saw a fuzzy mass in my upper chest. There are no spots or anything that suggests a tumor. Also she doesn't really know what the re-curring pain is, though when I don't…

dry leather hands: radiation side fx?
Hi all, I'm new to this board. My mom had a cancerous polyp removed from her colon, but it metastasized to her lung and she just had lung surgery to remove a lobe. She just finished 8 weeks of daily radiation combined with a steady dose of 5FU. She's lately been having dry, leathery skin on the soles of her feet and palms…

Alimta
Hi all. Just got a note from my oncoliogist and she wants to start me on Alimta next week. The biopsy I had did not produce sufficient tissue to get the specific mutation info of my cancer. Dad's tumor is shrinking!
My dad had his appt. today after his CT scan last week, the tumor shrunk in half. It was 10cm X 11cm, so, I think this is a pretty good result. They will do 3 more rounds of chemo then do another scan to see if it's still shrinking.
