Just introducing me

Hi all - i'm new to this forum and wanted to introduce myself.

I'm here in support of my sister who was diagnosed just before Christmas with small cell lung cancer/extended. She will be having her 2nd chemo treatment this week. Her treatment consists of: Cisplatin/Etoposide VP-16 + Neulasta; along with lung radiation and future brain radiation.

While the initial diagnosis was devastating; i'm truly inspired by her strength and attitude towards beating this beast. Certainly this is a journey none of us wants to take, but i'm glad to find a forum where much can be learned and shared.

Together we are searching for the best self care necessary - and so far hydration seems to be an important factor. We're finding Juven, Ensure Plus, and E-mergenC to be very helpful. Learned today that Silvadene may be a good product for her to begin using while on radiation. Does anyone have any experience with that?

Thanks - and wishing all the very best.

    Hi Max
I didn't have to have chemo so I can't help you there. However I welcome you and want to tell you that this is a wonderful site of supportive people. You can ask anything and someone will have the answer.
