My husband has a cold
he just had chemo Thursday- Saturday. His WBC count was good at about 7.2 his platelets were on the low end at 145 not sure if that matters. Is it dangerous for him to have this cold? other than he is being very dramatic and I could be what is dangerous for him. Honestly I am not sure what to do here, no fever, just a bad…

First day Chemo Radiation - Could feel in treatment and now feel burn
I thought it was all in my head. I tried to think it was in my head, I really did. But it wasn't. I could feel the beam on my skin during treatment. When I walked to the changing room, I felt a sunburn. When I looked at my **** in the mirror it was terribly red and creased looking. The redness went away, but the burn is…

Hunkered Down

I'm good for another three months - EDIT
Went to the big city to see my Oncologist yesterday. CEA 0.5 and all other bloods looking normal. I was really tempted to just call him and skip the office visit. (NOT 600 miles) 330 miles (nit!) is a long way to go for a five minute visit; but I do like to see him and hear it from 'the horses mouth'. So, happy holidays…

So tired after first infusion
Is it normal to be so tired. I am still recovering from my bowel surgery too. The first few days during the infusion at hospital and take home infusion, I seemed to have energy. I attributed this to the iron drip I got before treatment. But after, and continuing through the second week, I have about 3 hours a day that I…

I didn't sleep well so I was still snoozing when he called promptly at 8am. He never calls in the morning, let alone first thing. I've been seeing him for almost nine years and he still doesn't know my voice, so he asks "is David there, I need to discuss his test results with him?" This is my first CT scan at a one year…

The fun never ends...
Just got out of the hospital the other day after being in for two weeks. I had septic shock. They figure it was from my colon being so irritated from not being used since the illeosomy that it turned mocroscopcally porous and allowed bacteria into my bloodstream. I had four different bacterias that are all related to the…
