Lonsurf - Anyone used it before?
My mom was recommended Lonsurf pills. We've been on 5Fu, Oxaliplatin, Leucovorin, Irinotecan, Avastin. I've done some research on the pro/con of it and challenged my oncologist about it and they said that it's their last chemo med that they have to offer. Then they recommend mom go to clinical trials at Memorial Sloan…

Neuropathy
I thought I would share this in case anyone on here needs it. I had a pretty rough time with lingering neuropathy during and following my most recent Folfox treatments. My chemo nurse told me to start taking a vitamin B complex to help with the neuropathy. She specifically said that the "Nature Made" brand worked the best.…

Not sure what to do next
So I was diagnosed with "advanced" stage 4 colon cancer with numerous mets to the liver in July 2017. My initial CEA was 811. I have been on FOLFOX with Avastin for 7 cycles since then. CEA down to 20. The only surgery I have had is for a temporary colostomy. Have not had surgery to remove any tumors. I met with surgeons…

Here we go again :(
Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've posted but the cancer is back so here I am! Just wondering if anyone has experienced a cervix mets? I have been through the 5fu, Xeloda, Radiation, etc...all beginning back in 2013. Started off with a 10cm mass in my colon, and a lesion on one of my ovaries. I had all of that…

Signet ring adenocarcinoma...anyone else have it?
I had my appointment with my oncologist to where he told me that my cancer is a "variant" (his words) of colon cancer. I have looked it up and found statistics showing that it is very rare...less than 1% of colon cancers. The prognosis isn't good...but then the only informlmation i have found is old. I am thinking that i…

Looks Like It Is Back
Not a happy scan at all. Was my mistake, I was actually thinking I was going to have a clean scan. Still hoping some other causes for what showed up. Maybe something not mentioned in all the other reports but was there (benign nodule anyone?) and that lymph nodes, which often are the ones where mets go, is just infection.…

xeloda and feet: deep blisters - advice??
Hi All, I'm on Xeloda (and other stuff). Was on Xeloda before and did have various problems with my feet (blisters, peeling skin). Having a lot of difficulty this time and only on round #2 (starting #3 tomorrow). Biggest problem is that, especially at the balls of my feet, I have "blisters" -- but seem to be very deep --…

Does the chemo itself cause weight loss?
my husband is literally wasting away its killing me to watch. He is eating, I see him eat, no nausea, no vomiting. His cancer was not aggressive so I don't think that's it, and he only had two liver mets. so does folfox with Avastin cause weight loss on its own?

Do you ever wonder what caused it?
When my husband was first diagnosed with rectal cancer I felt that I needed an answer as to what caused it. I wanted to know for the future, for myself for our kids, etc. Was it his beloved Diet Coke, the couple of beers that he had couple times a week, was it the fact that every job he has had he has been around…

Targeted Cancer Care page at MGH
I answered a few questions on BRAF and KRAS variants last night on another board after doing a a lot of research and asking my son to interpret a paper for me. I have a much better understanding of the big picture of CRC now. This morning I was looking around and found that Mass General Hospital (MGH) has pages by variant…

Metastasized colorectal cancer
My mother found out Tuesday that her cancer has spread to her liver (6/7) masses and her lungs. The doctors said the only option we have is to do aggressive chemo to prolong her life. I'm scared for her to do the chemo because last time she almost died twice. She contracted MRSA and Sepsis as well. Her health already isn't…

So I go at 3 today for biopsy results
I literally feel like I’m on death row going on for sentencing to see if I’m getting the chair or just get to live it out in prison. I know I should be more positive but it has been the longest weekend ever waiting. And I just feel sick.

Question on Imodium
My directions are to take one four times a day if there's too much water in the bag. I was doing this at the hospital but they indicated that I should try the Nutrisource (Guar Gum) packets first. I got Benefiber instead as CVS didn't have Nutrisource but it's the same three grams of fiber. I am planning to take the…
