Running out of options
I'm new and am enjoying all your messages. My dad was diagnosed stage IV with liver mets June 2006. They removed a foot of his colon & 11 lymph nodes-all had cancer. He has extensive "tumor burden" in his liver, a lymph node in his stomach area, & the lining around the organs. First-line treatment was FOLFOX with Avastin,…

too soon to recur?
I know I'm one of the most paranoid patients around, but I'm trying not to be. I had my surgery on Nov. 23. I was judged to be Stage I and clear at that time. Is it too soon for a recurrence, if it is going to happen? I've been having symptoms similar to what I had before the surgery, although at the time I thought it was…

Random Thoughts Of a CC Survivor
This Easter season marks a year for me - since I was dx - After a year of surg and chemo - I am living doc free (for a few months at a time) and I start to wonder of the events of the past year really happened! Ofcourse I am changed forever and enjoy a post-cancer perspective that is pretty amazing, but every now and then…

This doesn't REALLY have anything to do with cancer :)
Except that my father had colon cancer (stage 4) ... and this effects him indirectly. I think I just dumped my boyfriend of a year (YEeees - I'm a guuurl :) My boyfriend finaly decided he didn't want kids (eventhough he knew for a year that I did) All I know is: the whole thing made my dad cry because he can't kick the…

Normal?
Just want to know if I am the only one that sometimes feels this way or even thinks like this: Even thought the tests and Docs tell you, you are NED/ALL CLEAR, do you find it hard to feel "normal or healthy"? It is weird, sometimes I am actually afraid to feel good or healthly, I just just scared it won't last. I know it…

Cyst on CT
Hello, I just posted yesterday and received very encouraging responses - thanks so much to everyone.... I did have a question for those who did respond to me regarding the object that appeared on my moms scan. Hi everyone
I had my EUS today and the doc told me that 1 or 2 lymph nodes are enlarged, so I'm going in the morning to my oncologist to talk about the chemo/rad I will be doing before the surgery. How many of you had this before surgery? Can you also tell me what I should expect from this? Do they do these together or alternate? Does…

Been a while, but your all in my thoughts
It's been a bit crazy for me for the last two months. I've accepted a promotion at work which has kept me extremely busy and working a lot of overtime right now due to a consolidation, but just want you to all know that not a day goes by when I don't think of all of you and keep you in my prayers. Bob(my hubby) is doing…

Hello all, I amde it thru my surgery and got home from hospital on Friday. They found another cancerous mass higher up in my colon and 3 of 10 nodes were also cancerous. Oxygen level
The homecare nurse comes by every week or two to check my fathers blood pressure and oxygen level. He has stage 4 colon cancer (with spread to Lungs and liver) Every time she checks his oxygen level or listens to the lungs she says: "Yup - nothing wrong with your lungs at all!!" It's driving me nuts. Is the oxygen level an…

quarterly check up
well I am going for a quarterly check up in two weeks. It really brings the reality of being diagnosed with cancer back to the front page. I had a big polyp excised in the rectal area and the surgeon urged me to have the whole rectum removed. I consulted with an oncologist and decided to waive the surgery and just monitor…
