Has anyone had any experience with a rectal stent? I have had two colon resections and a temporary ileostomy or at least I hope it is temporary. Radiation & Cea?
Any ideas why Cea would increase while taking radiation and 5 FU? My cea has nearly doubled in 6 weeks! Hoping it's not related to a possible return of previous lung mets. They're radiating now for a perirectal mass:( Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Lawsuit?
My husband (39 years old) was diagnosed with stage 4 July 07. In 2004 he had hemeroids and what our family doctor called a "cyst" on his rectum. At the time I told him to ask her for a colonoscopy. She told him it wasn't necessary. This whole living hell was entirely preventable. I am considering a malpractice lawsuit…

Awesome night!
My Relay for Life team had a talent show last night to raise money. I'm so excited! We raised over $1100!!! That puts us over our team goal of $2500!!! Relay's a week from Friday, so I'm thrilled. I stepped way out of my comfort zone and sang a solo that I dedicated to all cancer survivors. I especially dedicated it to my…

First adventure
I had my first adventure since my surgery in Nov. I went to my sorority convention for the weekend. It was only about 45 minutes away from home, but it was good to go and be a normal person again. I do confess I had to fight a bit of a panic attack at first. I kept thinking that if I felt sick again, my husband and doctor…

Brother NED
Its been a long wait but my brother had his tests completed and no cancer. It looked bad. The family as strange as it sounds were hoping if it is cancer we hoped it was colon caner and not pancreatic which is what the docs were suggesting. I survived colon cancer (so far) so if it was cancer better colon-whats that line…

newly dx'd
Hi, My name is Sherri and I was diagnosed with CC w/mets to the liver on 2/26/08. I had a left hemi-colectomy 3/18/08 and will begin 5FU on 5/5/08. I have been found to have a genetic sensitivity to the 5FU so will have to start at a reduced dosage, and forego the FOLFOX cocktail until the onc sees how I handle to 5FU.…

Just wondering if anyone here has had a hepatic artery infusion of chemo thru a pump? My husband and I are going to Sloan Kettering to have this done. He's stage 4 (liver). I've read that the chemo can be delivered at up to 200 times the dose of systemic chemo? Wondering if the pump operation is difficult and what recovery…

What about Chat?
I have posted this before, I don't think anyone responded. I called and e-mailed the webmaster. Why has it been down for so long. Technically, it isn't that hard to put up chat rooms. Anyone know? Also since chat rooms are relatively easy, I can't help but wonder, could we have a colon cancer chat room? Any interest, any…

An Employment Question
Hi again, Timing is everything. I am reaching the end of my chemo treatments (Xeloda), with about one more month to go. I am not sure when I will get all of my energy back and my hands will return to normal. And now I have received a call from a headhunter about interviewing for 2 different jobs in my field. I know that…

angry moment
Thought I would share a moment when I almost snapped last night. As I've been reporting on, I've had ongoing issues since my surgery in Nov., and I'm scheduled for a colonosocpy on May 14th.
