Question for snommintj
I noticed you said your bills are now over $2 million. My insurance has a $2 mil lifetime cap. Have you had to change insurance companies to continue treatment? Guess we should all keep an eye on these things and be prepared! Again, God bless and wishing you only great news and a dance at your grandchild's wedding! Diane

Update on Dad & question
Flew in yesterday and saw my father last night. He is very weak, not eating much if anything and probably in bed 23.5 hours a day listening to radio, sleeping. No pain though and still has a urinary tract infection and taking xeloda 2x per day. One thing surprised me was his belly was puffed so big and eyes very yellow. I…

Your favorite chemo brain story
Another thread gave me this idea. Keep in mind that I haven't actually had real chemo since end of April of last year, but it was the third time I had full rounds, and they say it can take up to a year or more to completely recover; well, I haven't actually made it that long between chemo, so I guess I can't say if it will…

My mom received her CT results yesterday and all is stable. The onc is keeping an eye on a small growth that is showing up on the CT. It grew a tiny bit but because it is where the incision for her surgery she isn't concerned because it may very well just be scar tissue so for now we're just keeping an eye on it. The other…

UPDATED: Liver enzymes perfect, white count too low for chemo #3
Doctor was very pleased that my liver enzymes and all other tests are 'perfect' but my white count was only 500. I was told to avoid enclosed public places for at least 3 or 4 days and given masks to wear if I absolutely HAVE to go into a store. Also, the doctor has decided to decrease my dosage because I'm very tiny and…

Immune System Shot?
Hi All, I hope all of you are hanging in there and fighting the good fight. I pray for all of you every day. I do have a question for the veterans (although I consider myself a veteran, also.) Since chemo (ended in February 2007), I have had a lowered immune system. I seem to catch every infection that comes down the pike.…
