Hi guys, After 8 treatments of folfox6, the scans came back and my mom's scans were really good. My mom was diagnosed w/ stomach cancer and it had come back in the lymphnodes in the abdomen the second time around. Now everything is no longer detectable, even the tumor in the stomach....everything except one pesky node in…

expressing emotions
Off topic, Kinda. I have been reading this board for a month or so, & have been amazed at how everyone, especially the men, are able to put their emotions on paper. It is unusal for men to be so open, about their feelings. Some women too of course. Now here are my questions. 1. Has everyone always been this forthcoming?…

Help!
Okay, so I wanted to do the Miralax prep, because I HATE drinking all the other junk. Now, I'm nervous, because I can't drink anything after midnight, and I'm still not absolutely, totally clear. Anyone here who can help? There's nothing solid, hasn't been for hours, but there's still a light brown color. Will I be okay…

We know he has a tumor near the rectum, but they bypassed this when they did the colostomy. He also has liver tumors but do they bleed? I know this is…

sac of fluid
After having colon cancer surgery, radiation, and chemo, the 2nd ct scan showed a sac of fluid. The oncologist gave me antibotic for 10 days, I still feel like I have constipation or blockage. The doctor said no followup needed. My Colonoscopy is in 10 days. should I request more antibotic?

A question that keeps me crazy!!! Chris is a year NED his last scan in March. A little history. July 09 chris went to the ER looking 9 months prego. They rushed him into surgery to remove his tumor which had blocked off his colon. He was given a colostomy. 6 days later we were released and 12 hours after that back in the…

I don't get it
Ever since my resection have had runny stomach, so was instructed to take Immodium, and have done so ever since Dec. While at drug store I decided to pick up pro-biotics for my tummy just to see what result I would get. Guess what no Immodium and solid stools!!! Why the heck wouldn't doctors recommend taking probiotics…

First the good news...
It is Friday! Okay, I am unemployed and for me every day is a Friday. At least it might as well be I usually don't know what day of he week it is unless someone tells me. But I had my appointment at MSKCC yesterday and that was Thursday, so using a bit of deductive reasoning with the only assumption being I did not sleep…

Clinical Trial 09-276
Anyone else on this board enrolled in this trial through Mass General or Dana Farber? It is a trial of 2 drugs, av-951 is like avastin and acts as selective VEGFR1, 2 and 3 kinase inhibitor blocking new blood vessel formation. RAD-001 is everolimus a mTOR inhibitor and has been approved for kidney cancer. Thought I'd see…

Pet/CT results and update
Well, I've had my last BIG hurrah, but still plan to have many more small ones. My oncologist says that in hindsight, he shouldn't have let me have such a long break. But we don't do hindsight... because if I did that for my original complaints and misdiagnosis, and any treatment decisions made along the way, there are…

Thank you all so much for replying. I know now that I am NOT alone in this you guys/girls are awesome. When I was dxs the specialist said right away for my blockage there was NO chemo/radiation possible. The rush is because of the almost total blockage of the tumor. High left side of the colon I am a stage III B. The…

Brief background: Had Cyberknife (CEA a little over 10 at this time) to right lung met in Oct. 2010. 4 weeks later developed radiation pneumonia in Rt. lung with a few questionable "spots". 2 different team of docs had different opinions about this. One said ALL pneumonia related..the other said pneumonia in lung but spots…
