Maybe TMI, But I've become a tight ..........
Okay, I'll just say it. I presently have a temporary ileostomy. I am almost four months past my surgery. I still often feel pressure against my anus and sometimes do squeeze out a little thin mucous. Crazy, Sexy Cancer---really????
This post is written with the newbies in mind, but maybe others can relate: When I was dx in 2009, I read just about every inspirational cancer book I could find. There was something good (in some cases if I looked hard enough) from each of these books, but the rah-rah-rah really got to me, especially when the cold, hard,…

Five Surgeries, Two Failed Chemos, Now Finally NED for the 1st Time
In the 2 1/2 years that I've been in this fight, I never had a clean scan. Until this morning, that is. Had the PET/CT at 9:00, and had the email from the radiologist by 1:00...and it was NED. From brain to knees, absolutely no sign of cancer. I have an extremely rare tumor type that had spread all over in the abdomen…

Hi All, Sorry that I am going to ask a similar question again. Last time, my mom had to make decision to go for surgery or not prior to PET/CT scan result. Post-liver resection scan results
Hey. About 6 weeks ago had Rt. lobe of liver removed, plus 3 sections of left. 12 tumors removed, but on this first post-op scan, it shows one tumor didn't have clear margins, now have a 2 cm. new spot. Largest one now-to-date. Heck. What a let down. Don't mean to be bearer of bad news, just have to vent. I thought I liked…

to know when to chemo
My husband had liver resection 8 days ago. His surgeon says she doesn't think there will be any chemo. I recall from past post that many do have chemo after this surgery (of course when recovered) and it is referred to as "mopping". Can you guys share your thoughts on whether chemo should be given in an attempt to make…

Update
I did meet with the liver specialist yesterday. His response to rising CEA and liver enzynmes (with clean CT) is to schedule MRI of liver. If that is negative, a liver biopsy. He was great at explaining the numbers and the possible outcomes. Although I don't look forward to any of it, I feel comfortable with the plan.…
