Deodorant or anti persperant suggestions?
I have a large scar under my arm where lymph nodes were removed. Had my last surgery in August, and have not worn any deodorant or anti persperant under this arm. I'm currently on antibiotics for an infection at the surgical site which developed after the 2nd surgery. I wear an anti persperant under the other arm, but…

Chemo Brain
I am 18 months out from my last chemo session and I am still dealing with issues of chemo brain. Supportive things people have done/let's post
Hi, I just read all of the ridiculous things friends and family have said about breast cancer. I have heard a number of these comments too. Since I've been feeling really down, I thought it might be helpful to hear some of the thoughtful things people have done. One ofthe most helpful things a friend did was show up on a…

This is what happens when you get old:
Your hearing goes. I was playing 24 Hours from Tulsa and I heard, She took me to a cafe. I asked her if she would pay. Moral: If you don't hear so good don't go to a cafe with a guy.

Breast cancer-themed holiday cards
I'm planning to bake cookies to take to all my doctors' offices before Christmas, to thank them for all they've done for me this year, and I got to wondering if there were any appropriately-themed holiday cards I could include. I ended up on the CafePress site (cafepress.com), and found some great cards by searching on…

Surgery Is Over
Hi all. Just dropping in to let you know that my shoulder surgery went well....it was "just" a bone spur....no torn rotator cuff. That's the good news. The bad news is there was a lot of cleanup needed to get the bone spur taken care of, and there was also problems with the shoulder blade......so, the orthopedic surgeon…

Good News
Hi Everyone! I have good news, I think. I finally got a result from my pathology test. My cancer was estrogen sensitive and PR was slightly sensitive. They don't have the HER2 results yet. This is so encouraging to me. I know I will have to take Tamoxifen or something for 5 years, but it will help to keep it from coming…

Things kids say
I finished my 4th round of AC chemo over a week ago. It took me longer to recover last week than usual. I was really tired and sleepy over the past week and was unable to get to church on Sunday. Our pastor came by to pray for me. When he finished praying, my precious 3-year-old daughter said "Thank you for praying for my…

Did you hear a chant today sounding like" CSN, BC BOARDS?" Are your feet tired? Do your legs ache?
If so, it's because I finished the half marathon in record time! For me, anyway, which ain't sayin' much! I have had to stop even thinking about running, and I walk the course at a really good steady clip~ no strolling! The is beautiful, along the ocean and winding around some really pretty neighborhoods But I did 13.5…

Can my hair be growing back?
My hair fell out around the 14th day after my first chemo. I did not shave my head, and had some peach fuzz remaining. Had 2nd chemo 10/27. It appears that some of that fuzz is growing a bit longer. Is this possible or am I hallucinating?

breast hard after lumpetomy
It has been over 1 month since my lumpectomy and my breast is still very tender and hard. I would not be worried about it being hard except it isn't hard where they took the lump from. It's even higher than the incision and below it. There is no redness or oozing from the incision. It's just started to get more tender and…

The Mysteries of Management..
Start with a cage containing five monkeys. Inside the cage, hang a banana on a string and place a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana. As soon as he touches the stairs, spray all of the other monkeys with cold water. After a while, another monkey makes…

Tamoxifen Side Effects
I'm wondering if any of you who are taking Tamoxifen have problems with stomach aches and nausea. I've been on Tamoxifen since the middle of July. I didn't have any problems at first, not even much trouble with hot flashes, but in the past two and a half months on an average of about once every week and a half to two…

hairless-all over
I just noticed today that the hair is completely off my legs and arms, my head is now shiny after losing the stubble left from the clippers, the whiskers are off my chin, and no "bikini wax" is needed anytime soon. But my eyebrows and lashes are still hanging on. When do they go? I'm doing the 3rd chemo on the 16th.

Caling all adriamycin gals....
I just saw a cardiologist yesterday for increasing palpitations and heart troubles...sigh... He said "So, how often did you have an echo cardiogram during the period you were infused with adriamycin?" He was horrified with my answer "None". "They should have been monitoring better", he said. (I LOVE this man, very…
