fFunny thoughts for the day
These are funny but very true. Even when opportunity knocks, you still have to get off your a** and open the door. Here are some other gems for you.... 1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die. 2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you…

Aromatase Inhibitors and Vitamin D
Ok, after having my vitamin D level drop to 25 on arimidex, I went to an endocrinologist. She prescribed 5000 IU D3 per day. Finally, my level is 55 (normal). More importantly, I am having less aches--especially less neck pain. Just thought I'd share my news.

Warrior?
When do you start to feel like a warrior or courageous? Went to my treatment yesterday and all I could think about was "I do not want to be here"... The highlight of the day was my friend and I pass the time away during chemo by scratching lottery tickets. We won 200$$.Yea.....!!!!!

6 month happy dance
Yay! It has been a little over 6 months since my bilateral(no chemo, rad or reconstruct) and I am finally feeling great. I had that darn sore, sore skin and fluid aspirated again and again - drains back in too- couldn't wear anything but a camisole. ...and I had the cutest little fake boobs all ready (Eva and Zsa Zsa Gabor,…

Radiation tattoo conversation starter
This is funny I think. One of my tiny radiation tattoos is several inches above my cleavage in the center of my chest. It is tiny, but I have had so many people say "I have to ask, what is that?" It just surprises me that people would be that curious or even notice something as tiny as a pencil tip. When I explain what it…

After chemo is done, then what tests are usually done?
I just finished my third round of taxotere/cytoxen....one more to go in three weeks and I will be done with the chemo! I asked when my port can be removed and I was told they had to do "tests first"....oh how I love vague answers. Does anyone know the procedures? Cat scans, pet scans, mammograms, ultrasounds? What should I…

Once Again, I'm here to say -- bright light at the end of the tunnel....
I haven't been on these boards for quite some time, but I do check in now and then. I'm so glad to see that so many of you are maintaining a positive attitude while facing all that we must face. But, I'm here to say that it's been 2 1/2 years for me since I completed treatment and I've been dancing with NED ever since. I'm…

A little humor for the day...fart football
Mike and Mary prepares to go to bed. They no sooner hit the pillow when ole Mike farts and says "seven points." Mary rolls over and says, "what the heck was that?" Mike replied, "its fart football." A few minutes later Mary lets one go and says, "touch down, tie score!" After about 5 minutes the ole Mike lets another one…

swollen ankles after chemo finished
Has anyone had any trouble with ankle swelling after chemo? Finished chemo April 23 and within a few weeks noticed some swelling around my ankels. It's still there. Onc asked a few questions about diet but didn't seem too concerned nor did he say it was due to the chemo. See him next week and will ask again. Just wondering…

I found a bra that is comfy for the expander girls out there
So, I have expanders in right now and I bought a couple of UGLY and overpriced bras from my ps office. I know that some of you were asking what to wear with the expanders and so on. Even though my ps would like for me to wear the bra during the day, most of the time I don't. It has like 6 hooks in the front and it is…

Please do not wait
Hello everyone, Recently I came across of several posts, where people have to delay start of the treatment for various reasons. The explanation of NED
So many don't know what NED means. NED means no evidence of disease. It is what we say after a check up when our doctor says everything is fine, or, we have our first mammo or ultrasound and they are clear. It means you are free of cancer! So, NED is a very good thing! Just wanted to explain it to those of you that don't…
