The explanation of NED

So many don't know what NED means. NED means no evidence of disease. It is what we say after a check up when our doctor says everything is fine, or, we have our first mammo or ultrasound and they are clear. It means you are free of cancer! So, NED is a very good thing! Just wanted to explain it to those of you that don't know what it means, as it has been on the board a lot lately. And, that is a good thing too! LOL

    It took awhile before
    It took awhile before someone explained this to me when I first came on. I had no idea who NED was. Thanks Ritzy!

    Handsome guy....
    ....but a bit of a gigilo....lol...dancing with all these people (NED is for all cancers, not just we sisters in pink!)

    Don't forget NED's geeky younger brother!
    When I had my first post-treatment mammogram in April, the radiologist who came to give me the good news used the phrase, "No Evidence of Recurrent Tumor," so NERT.

    So...[sigh]...while many of you have waltzed with the suave, handsome Ned, I got to do the hokey-pokey with some short geeky guy named Nert....

    Let's face it... everybody on this site wants NED in their life. Girls, boys, black, white, brown, purple, young, old, gay, straight, rich, poor, liberal, conservative, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, atheist, whatever. Whatever else we *don't* have in common, we are all crazy about NED. And once he shows up, we'll do whatever it takes to keep him around! Our dear friend and veterinarian is undergoing chemo right now for a metastatic cancer of unknown origin - and believe you me, the Moopster and I are wishing HIM a nice long relationship with NED!

    Whether it be NED or NERT, we all want him! lol And yes Aortus, NED & NERT are for everyone and anyone that is and has fought cancer!
