What does a blood clot feel like?
Was just curious, have any of you guys had a problem with blood clots? My onc keeps asking about those during check ups and I'm not sure if I would know it if I even had one...Is it an obvious thing and is this just a dumb question?

Tamoxifin
I have made the decision after much research on both sides of the fence that I won't be taken Tamoxin after my radiation. I have always geared my aliments with homepathic remedies and I believe there are estrogen blocking alterative, breast cancer specific. I just finished chemo onto radiation, and I have decided to not…

Rough week
Wow, the past few days have been BAD! I finished 4 courses of A/C almost 2 weeks ago & honestly, I thought the worst was over. I've got 4 courses of Taxotere coming, + rads & a year of Herceptin. I figured the A/C was the worst of all & if I got through that it would pretty much be downhill from there. Compared to what…

Frozen shoulder...ouchy!
It hurts, it hurts, ouchy, ouchy!!! Im such a baby...lol! My shoulder pain only got worse over the weeks. so they ran some tests on it and yes testing for the dreaded word of bone cancer...but good news is that it appears to be just a frozen shoulder but they wont rule out bone cancer till test results are in...which…

Our more current posts are on Page 3 and 4
Because this #$%$% person spammed our site, most of our current subject posts start a little way down on page 3 and on page 4. I just hate it when this happens. It totally screws up the information that people are looking at and puts posts that are outdated (although they might have useful stuff) up at the top. As Winnie…

Making Strides this morning for ALL of you!!
Hi!! I'm sitting here finishing up my tea, dreading the fact that I have to wake up my husband, daughters, and niece soon to get us all ready for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk this morning! I wanted to share my team news with you all - when I started the team I set a goal of $1000. Since I was dx in June we…

I'm Done, I'm Done, I'm Done!!
I finished my Herceptin yesterday. Sooo happy to be off that drug. I have all the little nasty side effects...running nose, sinus stuffiness, numbness in arms and legs, dizzy (ended up in the ER), not sleeping. It didn't effect my heart though so I'm very grateful for that. I have my 6 months mammogram in Nov. The last one…

What about Femara
Tomorrow I will have the last of 35 radiation treatments. My onc wants me to go on Femara. Has anyone had experience with this? I'm just so tired of being tired. I have already done the adria/cyclo and taxol chemo and have been at this since my dianosis in May of 2008. Are there any side effects??

Drug test and jobs....
So I'm job hunting. Finished rads at the end of April, and I know physically I should slow down and wait, but the funny thing about those doctors and hospitals, they want to be paid! So, I had my 2nd interview today (woo hoo!) and just now thought of this: They will probably require a drug test (it's a local govt agency).…

Exchange Surgery Veterans
I had my exchange surgery on October 13th. What a relief to get the expanders out. Already can tell a great deal of difference. My question for the veterans who have had implants for a while. Does it ever feel normal again -- where you can't tell something weird is in your body or will I always be able to tell?

Exchange Surgery - What to expect??
I am scheduled to meet with my plastic surgeon next Tuesday to hopefully schedule my exchange surgery. This is a "new" area for me and I'd like to hear from the experts. How long was the surgery? How long for recovery? Limitations on body? What type of incision is made? Anything special I should know? I appreciate you…

AHHHHH RAGING RASH ON LYMPHEDEMA ARM
Oh My Goodness, I have a raging rash all over my arm that has lymphedema and it is driving me CRAZY! I saw my onco yesterday and he put me on antibiotics to ensure I do not get an infection and has sent me to a skin doctor that I will see tomorrow. He also had me get an untra sound on my tummy to look at my liver, pancreas…

Raloxifene instead of Tamoxifen? Anyone hear of that?
I just read an article where they considered Raloxifene better than Tamoxifen and with fewer side effects. Has anyone read or heard about that? Or, is anyone here on it? Thanks!

Ok, whoever has NED can you send him my way? The mammogram report from my doctor said (and I quote) "Normal/Negative. No evidence of cancer." YEAH WOO WOO WHOOPIE YIPPEE!!!! A small break from cancer
We used to play this sort of Round Robin game with our IM at work; thought it may be a light and fun diversion :)Might be fun to see each others answers. Here is how it works: answer the question of which you perfer, the pose another question for the next person. Example: Q: Halloween or New Year's Eve? A: Halloweeen NEW…

When Is Enough, Enough?
Here I am, two weeks and two days past my brain MRI, and still nothing from the neurologist. I have tried to exercise patience, but have called twice to see if they have any news yet. Still, I think these doctors just don't get it when it comes to the amount of stress we are under when we undergo these type of tests, and…

My onc appointment was this morning - last chemo was a week ago, had my blood checks today. Got fluids & a couple shots, white & hemoglobin counts were down. Me with 7 months of HAIR
I had to gel it a bit because it tends to be a little frizzy. Something I am not used to because my hair before chemo was straight. Sure is a lot better than no hair. Hugs Donna
