Did anyone else lose their About Me information?
Hi All, I just noticed that my About Me information is gone. I have a feeling it was wiped out with the maintenance upgrade yesterday. Cindi

Hello dear ones!
I am, for good or worse, back! Thank you all for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers and Moli's hug! It was a rough one, coupled with my heart getting wonky again. So far they are going to treat it with meds and hope to keep it stable til I turn 65 in Dec. to get the problem really diagnosed. They seem to think the…

OK - I'm officially "de"ported!
Just got back from the surgeon's office. My port is officially out of my body. Time to celebrate. Can't wait for it to heal where I can stretch my left arm up without pulling. It is an interesting little device. The doctor showed it to me. I could feel it pop out when he removed it. I think the apprehension was worse than…

Port Question
im getting my port on Monday. I was thinking it would be better to have it on my non-dominant side (which would be left for me.). But as I was driving in the car today, I realized that might be exactly where the seatbelt hits. Which side is preferable for the port or do we have a choice?

Lymphederma
On recovering from the robotic surgery 2 weeks ago I have endeavored to take a walk in the neighborhood as much as is comfortable. The length of the walk increased slightly every time (about every 2 days). On last Monday I noticed I could not walk as far as earlier due to groin pain and actually had to lay on the side of…

chemo 6 is done, I got to ring the bell!
I held my breath when I looked at my blood work yesterday and was surprised. My platelets were 149 - I'm almost normal! I can't believe they gained from 63 last week to 149. So I got full course of chemo today, although I think both were at the reduced dose. I asked for the maximum, but my doctor told me that the reduced…

Lou Ann updating
I don't feel like I have been doing a very good job here lately. Some times I have been so tired that I have had trouble reading everyone's posts. Everything kind of blends together Chemo brain at its best. I know there are new members of this selective group that I haven't welcomed and many posts that I haven't answered.…

Back to work tomorrow
Tomorrow is a big day for me as I will be returning to work after being off for 8 months to complete & recover from surgery and chemo-radiation. I am looking forward to this day as the beginning of my new life; however, I find myself being extremely emotional today which is not normal for me. I've just returned from a week…

Oxaliplatin?
Hello Ladies, I am not frequently on this blog but when I do, I find you all have such great information. I love reading the NED stories and all the hopeful and good scans. To recap: I was diagnosed in January of 2015 with stage 4 endometrial and in Feb 2015, had a successful surgery removing both small and large tumors…

Fasting: interesting experiment!
So, I gained weight the last 3 years which my Dr. said correlated to my current diagnosis. I don't have diabetes or high blood pressure or anything but definitely have been meaning to get serious about slimming back down. As soon as I received that lovely call telling me I had cancer, my first instinct was to think how I…

Clinical Trial
Hello ladies, My sister is still continuing to struggle with finding a chemo to work. She had 6 rounds of carbo/taxol...mixed results and spread to liver. Doxil...liver growth....Doxil with Avastin (one round) but then got back bad blood work for her liver. Dr thought there might be blockage and was planning on putting in…

Pathology report post DiVinci - Requesting guidance
I'm Not sure how to post this news and have delayed it a few days. I care about all the sisters here who have weathered with grace all my complaining and moaning so it's with a pinch of irrational guilt that I report this good news. The path report following last week's hysterectomy came back: "Grade dropped to 1 from the…

Possible recurrence at incision update
Ok. I went to the doctor and she sent me to a surgeon. I am actually having a CT scan today and meeting with surgeon tomorrow about removing the mass. The mass is now bigger than a golf ball and starting to cause some pain. CT scan should show how far into the abdominal cavity the mass goes and how invasive the surgery…

And the healing continues
Apparently I did end up getting an infection. They have put me on amox-clav to try and clear it up. I got to meet with my oncol, and she said 6 more weeks of nothing strenuous .. pick nothing up over 6 lbs, no baths still... etc. It's funny, since my surgery I've craved nothing but sweets and meat. Before my surgery I…

Importance of power of attorney, living will, health care power of attorney
Just a reminder of how important it is to have our "paper work" in order. We are seeing our lawyer next week to make sure everything is up-to-date. I know we have to make some changes to our wills since we adopted our granddaughter last summer. But...I have a funny story to tell you. When my mother remarried in 1991, she…

Metformin Worked
A month ago I put myself on 1000 mgs. of Metformin. I had a Cat scan done this past Monday. My nodules all shrank significantly. Two nodules decreased by one half their size. The other two are also very small. The oncologist said they are now so small they could not be biopsied. She decided to increase my Metformin to 1500…

When some stop posting!!
I love you ladies (you too Red Corvette) and don't know how I would have gotten through all this without you, BUT, it just worries me so much when somebody stops posting. I start wondering if they're ok, or they're so sick they can't post or so down-in-the-dumps (I'll try to cheer you up!) or maybe they're feeling SO good,…

Ovarian Cancer Dose Dense Numbers Falling Question
I have stage four ovarian cancer (the board is slow so posting here). I was originally on the dose dense protocol-- carbo/taxol one week, and taxol every three weeks. This is my frontline protocol. I had a hysterectomy on 2/5/2016. Started chemo on 3/5/2016. I am responding very well to chemo. No issues with side effects--…

Good news at my brain test!
I went in for my brain/eye test this morning and they said I have damage on the left side of my brain; none on the right and with therapy, it can probably be overcome. They put these goggles on me that record my eye movement while I have to do all kinds of things while moving my head around as the therapist directed. They…

Possible endometrial cancer recurrence in incision
I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in May 2013 at the age of 38. If I remember correctl, it was stage 1b grade 2, but I'm not sure if the b is part of the stage or grade. Anyway, I had a complete robotic hysterectomy in June of 2013 at MDAnderson. I recovered quickly and had no other problems. However, in the last…

Platelets keep dropping?
Does anyone know what this might mean? I haven't heard from the doctors yet, but my blood test this morning shows platelets fell from 73 to 64, also WBC is now almost too low to get chemo. I can't imagine why they dropped instead of rose. I also imagine this isn't exactly good news. I guess I won't get chemo again…
