preliminary vs. final results
I called the gyn. office last Friday. Lab tech said only pre-lim results were back, but dr. was not in office to review. She also said I wouldn't want the pre=lim anyway, but would want to wait for the final results. (D&C on Valentines Day, removal of polyps and endometrial samples) On other occasions, when things were…

Daylady checking in - Cancer Across the Pond
Hi Ladies! Just thought I would check in and let you know I am back from Germany from the first of what is probably going to be many visits this year. I was at the Herzog Cancer Clinic outside Frankfurt Germany. In three weeks I did whole body hyperthermia, local hyperthermia, daily vitamin and enzyme infusions, low dose…

Are Your Ferritin Levels Too HIgh? Is IP-6 a Solution?
As if we don't have enough concerns, found out a few months ago a blood test showed that my ferritin levels were way too high. High iron is never a good condition for cancer patients for, as we know, cancer likes iron just as it does sugar. My levels had been normal before two blood transfusions that I needed at the very…

I'm back and hoping for help please :(
When I first posted (1/7/17) I was given the common sense response to wait and see what the results were before asking questions. Well, the tests are stretching out and I still have no concrete results. So please, can you humor me and tell me your thoughts? (which I know are not medical opinions, just personal…

Doxil Question?
I'm on single agent doxil now. I have had 5 infusions, and my disease is "stable". My CA-125 was "stable", but decreased from the high 180. My symptoms are non-existent. I have a small nodule on my rib that has decreased in size, so that it's no longer visible (the area where the tumor is tender, but no different than the…

It was worth it
Today was lab, doctor visit, and infusion day. Except for a new phlebotomist who had a lot of trouble accessing my port, it was a really good day. The tumor in my neck has shrunk down to almost nothing, so the horror of wearing the mask and being pinned down on a board for radiation was worth it. My CA125 level dropped…

cT Scan Results and Need some help...
I am posting here as this board is more active. I got mixed news regarding Doxil-- my disease is stable. But I cannot remain on Doxil forever. We are military and moving (probably D.C.), and so I am looking for a clinical trial. Does anyone know where to start? We will find out for sure in March where we are going. Do I…

New Here
Hi all~ I am new here and I am hoping you can share some of your experiences with me. I recently started spotting , in late Oct., after 17 months cycle free. I did some research and learned this condition is not normal and requires being seen asap. I saw my family doc on Nov. 7th where it was discovered that he has been…

Moffitt patients and experiences?
I posted this interest (twice!) under the recent Opdivo stream but thought I would pull it out as a separate discussion for those of us in Florida using Moffitt. I too saw Dr Chon for a second opinion last November and plan to continue to use Moffitt for consults since I am a Floridian. After carbo/taxol did not work for…

Pain after chemo
I'm a little over a month out from my last chemo treatment. For the past couple of weeks I've had intense pain in my legs and abdomen at night and early in the morning. It seems to be a combination of leg pain and constipation; the pain moves around and comes and goes. Once I'm able to clear my bowels in the morning it…

Sad to report that BC Brady passed away
Billie Crandall Brady passed away yesterday. A few months back Billie wrote a post that she was afraid one of us would pass away and nobody would know what happened to them. Scared to feel good
Since the beginning of December, I've been feeling better and better. Some of it is, I'm sure, having my thyroid medication raised substantially. But I think the other reason is because it's been a year since my last chemo and I'm FINALLY healing from the damage - I noticed on Saturday I was using my left hand to eat again…

SSI
I was diagnosed with stage 3 grade 2/3 uterine cancer in June followed by, a radical hysterectomy, 6 rounds of chemo Taxol/carbo, 25 external radiation treatments and 3 Brachyytherapy treatments- I have read where some have filed for SSI - I was working at a daycare and was told it was better for me not to work, because…

Daylady - More news...
Hi Ladies, well while I was in Germany Dr. Herzog pushed and pushed to get Kaiser to do tumor testing that I had not been able to convince anyone to do. Yesterday I got the results and found out that I tested positive for 3 of the 4 markers (Progesterone, Estrogen, and HER2). This basically triples my treatment options. In…

Checkin in and a tiny vent
Hey folks, I think the last time I posted I was pretty distraught. My first cisplatin infusion was a demoralizing experience. Combined with daily radiation, I was pretty fed up with life. The second infusion of cisplatin was easier. I don't know if it's because I was vigilant about taking my meds around the clock rather…

Question....
I am over six years out of all treatment. With Taxol/Carbo I lost all my hair. Grew back to a respectable length in six months. Flash forward five years, Im losing all my hair again. Anyone ever hear of this? What do I do? Dr.s can't find a thing wrong with me...no "pattern baldness" on either side of my families. Thanks,…

Positive pelvic washing
I am a 63 year old woman who had sudden vaginal bleeding after going through menopause over 20 years ago. I had a complete hysterectomy (ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix) earlier this month for endometrium cancer (adenocarcinoma). The doctor said the pathology report was "good", ie., stage 1, grade 1, myometrial invasion <…

Three years post treatment from UPSC
I have somewhat moved away from checking this site as much as I used to. Yesterday I had my six month checkup marking three years from the end of my treatment. I was diagnosed in June 2013 and after surgery staged at a Stage 3, 3B or C I'm not sure which. I had eighteen chemos and 4 internal radiation treatments. The…

Radiation on my neck
i saw the radiaction oncologist today and will be starting radiation on Monday. They did both the consultation and planning session both today so we wouldn't have to drive back another time this week. Looks like it will be for 15 times. They made me a mask to wear to keep head in one place and did a CT scan so they can…
