Really great site with charts and things to keep records of your treatment
http://www.chemotherapy.com/pdf/health_treatment.pdf Being of a private sort of mind, I would suggest printing it out and keeping your records not on the internet.

Merry Christmas!
I pray that each of you finds something to celebrate this Christmas, in spite of cancer. May joy find it's way into each of your hearts!

Aren't I too young for this?
Everything I have found on papillary serous carsinoma is in women over the age of 50. I'm not even 43 yet and I've just been diagnosed. Haven't even had the hysterectomy yet - scheduled for December 29, 2009. Is there anyone else here as young as me? Or, am I the baby of the group?

Newly diagnosed - Hysteroctomy 12/29 - Grade 3
Hi. I am 63 and just found out I have uterine cancer - Grade 3 but won't know my Stage until after the hysteroctomy. I'm terrified - I have a Mom with Alzheimers & a 90 yr old dad still living. I'm needed as caregiver - I've never been sick with anything before. Now this...YIKES, I'm reading & that scares me. I'm listening…

How we might be able to turn on the p53 gene and have it again kill our cancer cells.
Everyone, This is spilled over from an idea I had earlier on one of these threads. Here's my ah ha moment. Okay, I’ve got it, how to attack the problem of commutative thought, common thought, however you choose to think of it for yourself. Our cancer is for the most part a p53 gene driven cancer. The p53 gene, which…

(((((((Mary Ann))))))) A special hug as I feel my recurrance has taken you to a dark place.
I hear such discouragement in some of your posts since I recurred. I'm so sorry to have taken you to a darker place, even if it is just temporary and fleeting. I want to tell you that I allowed myself to believe that I had beaten this thing (for the most part anyway) and am so glad that I allowed myself that special joy…

Just info. Getting closer
New Zealand scientists have developed tiny "light" particles that can seek out and destroy cancer cells. Victoria University synthetic chemist Richard Tilley says researchers have established the tools to detect cancer when it is at the stage of a single diseased cell - well ahead of some MRI scans which cannot identify…

Do Something Nice for Yourself
A post about the joy felt at decorating for the holiday made me think that we ALL really need to be in the habit of doing nice things for ourselves. No matter how small they are they bring a brightness to your day. My sister and I share December as a birthday month...10 days apart though I am 4 years older...55 and 59.…

OUCH! Injections for white cells count
I was prescribed 7 injections of Neupogen right after my 1st Chemo cycle was completed. A nurse mentioned that I might experience some bone pain. After the 4 injection, I started to feel pain in my bones throughout my body. This was nothing like arthritis! By my last injection I was in tears. A nurse suggested that I use…

How long will this new port be so sore and red and ugly?
I had my Power Port put in yesterday morning. It is really sore whenever I lift the smallest thing or even move my shoulder to do dishes, etc. It looks red and sore. I don't have a fever or anything. Do they ordinarily hurt quite a bit? For how long? I don't want to be a baby and be calling over there for nothing, and I…

First Post-Surgical Pelvic Exam
The first thing I have to say is that this first exam went much better than I anticipated. The nurse used warm water to take the ice off of the speculum, the doc was VERY gentle and it didn't take long. (Not much to look at anymore with only the vagina intact.) With pelvics and paps every 3 months for the next 2 years,…

CA 125 contiues to rise
Went to the doctor on Thursday. The CA 125 is up to 55.2. It was 42 on the 10/29. The doctor says he does not treat numbers. He treats when the CAT scan shows something. My CAT scan was negative again. That was good news. He said the infection pocket I had in my abdomen was from a lymph node biopsy. He said that at times…

Thank You All
I have to tell you what a fantastic site this is for anyone looking for answers or just comfort! My sister’s stage 1b uterine cancer was treated with only surgery, but spread to the vaginal cuff within 90 days. She received radiation treatment and just went for a follow up PET scan and they have now found a small lesion on…

Doin' the Dance!!!
My CT scan looked good!!! They are still following the 2 para aortic lymph nodes that were biopsied, but they are smaller again this CT than the one in September. My doctor said that cancer grows without treatment and these nodes are shrinking. I asked about the pap smear and he said that he quit doing them as a measure…

My recurrance is offical. I start back on chemo Monday. :(
Well, ladies, this isn't the news I wanted to be posting. I remember how I felt when Fran's cancer recurred. I sincerely felt so very very bad for her, and at the same time, I felt that shiver of knowing "if it could happen to her; it could happen to me." I'm so so sorry for sending that shiver up each of you. Please try…

Preserving Orginal Serous Cancer Speciman in Parafin
I called my pathologist that read my orginal report on my uterine cancer. He said they preserve it in parafin for quite some time and tests can be added at a later date. He was not sure what tests could be added. I am not familiar with the molecular testing or tissue assay they perform. But I know they are testing for…

For Linda
Dear Linda, I try to be tactful, but when I am worried about someone I get a little bolder. I am worried about you. You said you are going back on taxol. My gyn Onc said she would use topocatan (I do not have the spelling, I am sure we can find it online) if I relapsed within eight months. I am not sure that is given with…
