BHRT Bioidentical Hormone Therapy
Have you heard anything about Bioidentical Hormone Therapy. I was browsing through Suzanne Somers' book "Knockout", and she mentions to be in this therapy for menopause. I am going to read about it, but I was wondering if anyone has read, tried of heard about it.

Lots going on.....
So just 10 days to my 40th birthday and I was told I have a uterine fibroid, polp, and a "thick" endometrium. I went to see my OB/GYN due to heavy, abnormal bleeding for two weeks. For several months now my abdomen has been EXTREMELY distended-looks like I am 6 months pregnant (it never gets better). I have no appetite. My…

Out of surgery and at home
Hope this reaches all in good spirits. I had my surgery this past Friday (Oct 15). When checking in I was fine, when I went to the pre-op room that is when I started to cry. I started to cry because I was nervous and the pain afterwards. When on the operating table they asked if I had any questions and I asked what time it…

Seems like I found the source and solution to the abdominal pain!
I couldn't wait to post this follow-up report on treatment for my post hysterectomy abdominal pain that feels like menstrual. Cramps. I've had it since February. I started working with a personal trainer who thought the source of the pain might involve the psoas muscle. This is a deep abdominal muscle that can create…

Bladder injured during hysterectomy?
have any of you sustained a bladder injury as a result of a hysterectomy? The oncologist said everything looked absolutely normal at my 6 month checkup this week (yesss!) and attributed the bleeding, blood clot and abdominal pain (which pain I've had since the hysterectomy) to the bladder. I've read that if you had…

Spotting last week and tomorrow's 6 month follow up
Last week I had definite spotting after a 4 month break from any spotting. When I called the onc surgeon to report it, i was told it was probably because I started exercising. Why didnt they tell me that many months the road i could bleed for a reason unrelated to a recurrence of cancer? The staff seemed so indifferent. If…

Clinical Trial-Recentin
I have been on a GOG clinical trial for Stage IIIC papillary serous uterine carcinoma for 4 months. This is an oral medication that is in the same class as Avastin. My GYN team has very little experience with the side effects of this medication and the first couple of months were quite traumatic because I was coping with…

Not a good news day today!
Today was not a good news day! My oncologist rang to say that my latest MRI scan shows a new nodule in the pelvis. This will be my third recurrence and the options in the armoury are getting less and less. So, here we go on the merry-go-round of PET scans, biopsies and possibly more major surgery (if it is an isolated…

Mum's update
I have been posting and lurking on these boards for a long time now. My mum's original diagnosis was UPSC stage IIIC grade 3 in November 2010. She was given the all clear July 2011 and the cancer came back in the supraclavicular and para aortic lymph nodes within 3 months. Following this mum decided she didn't want to do…

Is it okay to use estrogen cream?
I haven't been able to find anything that is an effective moisturizer. I've heard estrogen cream is the only thing that works but I was also told that endometrial cancer thrives on estrogen. Any thoughts?

My journey has started
I had a radical hysterectomy with removal of the omentum. Dr. Said he could see no visual signs of the serous papillary cancer outside of my uterus. The pathology report will be the only absolute answer to that question. I am totally in God's hands. I am feeling great nd walking around and able to cook and pick things up…

Mom's recent Grade 3 diagnosis- is it UPSC? Confused
My Mom was diagnosed a few weeks ago with grade 3 endometrial cancer. She didn't find out the best way- the doctor hadn't read her notes properly before her appointment, and opened the results up in front of her. She read it off the screen before he did. She remembers reading 'Endometrial Cancer, Grade 3, Serous' and they…

What type specialist would you recommend????
As posted a week ago, had my 6-month check with oncologist and all went great. Unfortunately I've not been able to keep my lower back pain at a good level, so he requested an MRI. Results of MRI -- moderate disk protrusion on L5 vertebra, appearing to compress S1 nerve root. Basically what this is saying, my lowest…

Got good news today
It has been four weeks since my last lab test, and seven weeks since my last chemo. My CA-125 went from 60 to only 79. That is a much smaller increase than when I ended my second round of chemo. I was very happy. I will start on homone therapy now. I will start on aromasin which is a newer aromatase inhibitor. It is like…

UPSC Survivors---I need your help.
My mom was recently diagnosed with UPSC. She goes in for her hysterectomy etc on the 26th of June. I'm sure you all know already but the reading I've been doing online about UPSC is pretty grim. Trial?
Has anyone been hearing about the "exciting" new drug going into trials at M.D>Anderson? Every one here is buzzing about something called AV-203. Seems like it is for solid tumors, but I'm not smart enough to make heads or tails about. Maybe some of you smarter ones can check it out. Best, debrajo
