enlarged bladder
I had a prostatectomy and diverticulotomy one year ago, and still am experiencing incontinence issues. I mentioned to my urologist that I can go hours without feeling the sensation that I need to pee. When the urge does present itself, it is sudden and I can have a complete flooding. Also, I can sometimes void and not know…

Preop RO meeting
Had a great preop meeting with RO. I will be doing two fractions of HDR-BT, 13.5 gy, two weeks apart. The procedure entails basically three steps. Under propofol, they will use a transrectal ultrasound to insert catheters, I think 20, into the prostate. They also will insert a urinary catheter for the procedure. I then…

Must we forsake Coffee & Beer to fight incontinence?
Preparing for surgery in a couple of weeks. I drink 4 cups of coffee at a 75% decaf ratio and stop at noon. Maybe a beer or two in the evening. Have you guys who went through surgery, and had done your Kegel excercises, found that you had to give up these diuretics? Thanks, Nick

MK tell us your story
MK... if you want to help the guys who come to this forum, you should tell the whole story from beginning to end. If you only share snippets in an effort to disparage robotic surgery, no one will know why robotic surgery was wrong in your instance, and how they can avoid those outcomes. You have mentioned your marriage…

One week since Catheter removed RP 3/20/2018
Well, it has been one week since my catheter was removed. I am stiil incontinent. With that said, when I am not incontinent and actually make it to the bathroom, I must say I have not had a stream flow like that since I was much younger ( I could pee across the room if I wanted to). There are times when everything seems…

Another urodynamic test
One year after my prostatectomy/diverticulotomy it was suggested I have another urodynamic study. I mentioned that I can still go long periods of time without the sensation that I need to pee. Before the study, I urinated over 700ml. into their beaker after losing a little previous to that. I wear a diaper which was a…

I have read that putting in an artificial sphincter is tougher to do after radiation, is that true? Can it be done? I'm fairly confident that I will not gain continence after radiation. While we are on the subject, can they put in an implant at the same time?

Anyone hear from Rakendra?
Has anyone heard from Rakendra lately? I dont necessarily agree with Rakendra's religious views, but right now, he could have some very good input into some of the controversy in this forum. I am guessing he could give some sage advice on how to deal emotionally with circumstances that are beyond one's control. Does anyone…

HI all So I went in on Thursday morning for my RP. Spinals and catheters were a bit of a drama but got there in the end. Don't even remember going down or waking up. Felt woozy for the remainder of the day which made getting used to the catheter fun. Consultant said the surgery went well and that he managed full nerve…

GOING FOR PROTON
Since getting the Dx from my physician, it has been a roller coaster of emotions; worries, grief, and relief, all bundled up together on a seemingly endless free ride. I could wait and don’t have to do anything at this stage, but my own unique situation forces me to make a decision and be clear of PC now. I am hopeful that…
