Daughter of Mom with Ovarian Cancer
Hello all, I am writing to see if there is anyone who needs a friend through all of this. My mother passed away from Ovarian Cancer this past October, and I miss her deeply. She was a stage four by the time she was diagnosed, and she fought hard for a year and a half. Beside my father, I was her primary care giver, and sat…

Side Effects of the Meds
My mom was diagnosed with OC in 2000, since then it has returned twice. She just started the first round of chemo last monday. The worst things for her are the aching in her legs, which she has pain killers for that, and the constipation from all of the meds together. She has taken everything that the doctors have told her…

I had posted a question about my mother in laws side effects from the surgery. She is now back in the hospital and they found fluid surrounding her stomach. Continual chemo
I have opted to be on chemo continually for the past three years even though my numbers and CT scans indicate that I am in remission. I have had 40 rounds of taxotere and carboplatin. Has anyone else done this? My blood work is in the normal range and my symptoms are minimal. I just don't schedule anything much for the…

About a year ago I was told that I have a cyst. I went to the doctor because of pain. He told me that he thought it might be some thing besides a cyst. He gives a CA125 and some other tests and tell me to wait. My CA 125 came back 13, I guess that is why he said wait. Any way I am now having more problems and now a…

ABOUT YOUR SYMPTOMS?
Hello ladies, I just have a couple of questions. When you went to the doctor because of your symptoms (not knowing it was ovarian cancer), was your symptoms the reason for the test to see if it was something? How many of the symptoms did you have and which ones did you have. My reason for asking is a year ago (12/03), I…

GOOD NEWS
My doctor visit last evening went well and I have once again been given some good news - the 'nodule' in the lung is simply scar tissue. the 2.5cm 'thing' in the pelvic area is filled with fluid but cannot be aspirated because it is sitting tucked near a loop of bowel. However, the pet scan shows no uptake of solution…

inoperable? how does this change things?
It seems like everyone here had somewhat sucessful surgery. When my mother went in they just closed her back up and told us that they couldn't safely do any surgery. Now we're onto chemo and having a rough go of it. However, we are still a little confused by the lack of surgery and the fact that we feel like she's the only…

LUNG NODULE?
In addition to my recent post regarding the lymphocele, I just received a copy of the complete test report. It mentions 'there is a scar identified within the right lung anteriorly. There is suggestion of a small nodular density associated with this scar. I cannot exclude a small nodular density within this scar." I was…

LYMPHOCELE?
Has anyone ever had a lymphocele? I had OVCA Stage 1C in March of 2000. Had total hysterectomy, omentum and lymph node removal. The last several CT scans have shown a 'mass' of 2-2.5 cm. My doctor and PA say it's a lymphocele. Sometimes they need to be drained, sometimes removed. Anyone have experience with this? My CA125…

I'm a 3c grade3 serous papillary but there was no disease in my pelvis, just on the ovaries and in the lymph glands. Is there anyone out there with this? I've just finished chemo and getting nervous about it coming back.

Is it time to give up?
I've been battling OVCA stage 3C for a little over 4 years. This last year has been the worst, starting with the cancer becoming resistent to taxane/platinum chemo. Next came a bowel blockage for which I had surgery, but the bowels have not worked properly since and I'm in an almost constant state of diarrhea. I have not…
