No sleep for the weary
Hi all I know it's been ages since I posted any news. This is my quick late night update. Life has been good, bad and everything in between lately. Seems like every time I sit down and read through the new posts, I get called away with some other crisis. My mom has been struggling and I worry for her so much. Every time…

Nothing on my schedule until Feb 14th when I get my next Rituxan infusion. This next one will mark the half way point in my 2 year maint plan. Best…

Please share your work story
Hello, I have tried to read everything I can about how work plays out during ABVD treatment. Basically, I need to keep working. I do have some sick and vaca time, possibly FMLA. I have a flexible schedule and can work at home at times. OTOH I also do have to get into the office a few times a week, its about a 40 minutes…

Cough
My husband had his first Rituxan infusion ( maintenance), on January 5th. He's had a cough close to a week now that wasn't getting better. He went to his general doctor yesterday and his lungs were clear. They gave him some antibiotics and cough syrup with codine to help him sleep. We were in the kitchen yesterday and he…

My post-chemo experience
Like most people I didn’t really know what to expect once my treatment ended. I just knew I felt VERY weak and was curious about when I’d get my hair back!! I experienced a few surprises along the way and I thought I’d post a discussion item here to capture them for others. Others may want to add their experiences as well.…

Onc appt on Tuesday
Hi, In the last 3 weeks I've had biopsies, blood work and a PET scan. I see my doc on Tuesday to get the story. A bit nervous because I don't know my fate yet.I know that one node has enlarged quite a bit, not painful at all, it just causes some harmless numbness. (per my other doc)I also have severe gastro intestinal…

wbc dropped and Cat Scan.
I went to my Gastroentologist this afternoon for a follow up. Because of my being admitted to the hospital December 11,011. So he called the hospital today for my record and it said acute diverticulitis. I was kind of surprised how my wbc dropped from 4.0 to 3.1 since August. I have to do my cat scan on February 3 and then…

anyone had RICE treatment
My dad had his Dr. Appt on Monday and they changed his treatment to RICE. He starts this treatment on Tuesday. It seems like this is much more draining and involved than RCHOP. I know my dad is nervous about the hospital stay for 5 days. Has anyone had this treatment?

Roller coaster ride trying to decide
Thought that the decision had been made..still deciding Chemo every two months for 2 years or Radiation infusion Zevilin. Worried about secondary cancer that maybe cause by radiation. We know that we shouldn't be worried about the unknown and deal with what we do know and that's making sure lymphoma is kept away, but still…

Hello, new Hodger here
Was just diagnosed over Christmas. Well that's a fine thing. Never saw myself as a lymphomaniac, but there it is. Have learned much in these few short weeks. I did freak, for sure. Couldn't sleep...lay awake shaking all night. Mainly because I must keep my job...my GP goes, no you won't be able to, you're life is going to…

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Therapy
Has anyone heard of MLD or have any experience with this type of therapy? MLD was suggested to me when I bought of pair of MBT shoes for $280 today. I still have late effects 1.5 years after chemo with tender heals mostly. I bought a pair of MBT sandals last summer and they made walking so much easier. Now this winter I'm…

I don't understand!
My dad has diffuse large b-cell lymphoma stage 4 and he had a clean pet scan in November 2011. Now only two months later after his last treatment and petscan the cancer is there and spread across his throat and chest. I am so sad and terrified. He has to go to a different hospital to start a different intense chemo…

PET scan today
Hi everyone. I had my PET scan today and it was not so scary except when they came back to get me from the room to put me in the scanner again to check my abdomen as they said there was a dark patch that they wanted to check to see if it moved on after the initial scan! Has that happened to anyone? I am now worried.

Anyone else going through something like this?
Found a lump on my upper arm near my armpit, but more on my bicep. Biopsy results came back suspicious for lymphoma and were sent on to Pittsburgh for consult. Those results came back as chronic lymphocytic lymphoma which translates to SLL/CLL. Had Bmbx, a full CT series and blood work in October 2011. My CT scan showed no…

After effects of chemo
No one one told me that after i was in remission that after effects could and did start. I have difficulty remembering things and often have to read my school word 3 or 4 times to try and get a good grasp of what's going on. I tend to forget what i'm doing or can't think of the correct words when i'm speaking. I also have…
