A warm Hello!
Hi to those of you who know me and to those who don't. Just wanted to pop in and check on folks and also give a brief update on my status. Went for another 6 month check up at Mayo yesterday. After the CT scan in the morning I saw my hematologist in the afternoon and was found to have remained in complete remission! I was…

Have a good oncologist at Dana Farber?
Hi, my mom, 65, was just diagnosed with stage 3 follicular lymphoma. She wants to be seen at Dana Farber. Anyone know a good oncologist there? I'm sure they're all good, but looking expecially for one a patient/family member would recommend as having a great bedside manner. Thanks.

Last Chemo!
I haven't been around in awhile but I just wanted to share that I finished my last treatment yesterday! I am in remission and have an appointment in 2 weeks to figure out where to go from here. Its weird, I feel like I should be happy and excited but I am not really. If anything I'm more terrified of what is going to…

Hair Loss
I was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and began to experience hair loss. However, I decided not to let cancer take my personality while it battles for my body. My family helped me to make this a funny experience. I refuse to let cancer change for anything but the better! http://youtu.be/R9o3EsL6Qhc

Thinking of you, Liz
Hi Liz Just wanted to say that I will be thinking of you tomorrow as you start your new journey. It's always a little bit scary to start a new treatment. But after tomorrow you will no longer be a newbie. I bet that you must feel some relief at getting started. It is so hard to do the w/w. I've done plenty of it. When you…

new to the board
Hi everyone! My name is Kelly, I'm 31 years old and I'm a 13 year cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease back in 1997 when I was 17 years old. I came to this board to hopefully connect with people who have gone through what I've gone through and who can relate to the fears I still have. My mother recently…

Hi all I know it's been ages since I posted any news. This is my quick late night update. Life has been good, bad and everything in between lately. Seems like every time I sit down and read through the new posts, I get called away with some other crisis. My mom has been struggling and I worry for her so much. Every time…

Please share your work story
Hello, I have tried to read everything I can about how work plays out during ABVD treatment. Basically, I need to keep working. I do have some sick and vaca time, possibly FMLA. I have a flexible schedule and can work at home at times. OTOH I also do have to get into the office a few times a week, its about a 40 minutes…

Cough
My husband had his first Rituxan infusion ( maintenance), on January 5th. He's had a cough close to a week now that wasn't getting better. He went to his general doctor yesterday and his lungs were clear. They gave him some antibiotics and cough syrup with codine to help him sleep. We were in the kitchen yesterday and he…

My post-chemo experience
Like most people I didn’t really know what to expect once my treatment ended. I just knew I felt VERY weak and was curious about when I’d get my hair back!! I experienced a few surprises along the way and I thought I’d post a discussion item here to capture them for others. Others may want to add their experiences as well.…

Hi, In the last 3 weeks I've had biopsies, blood work and a PET scan. I see my doc on Tuesday to get the story. (per my other doc)I also have severe gastro intestinal…

wbc dropped and Cat Scan.
I went to my Gastroentologist this afternoon for a follow up. Because of my being admitted to the hospital December 11,011. So he called the hospital today for my record and it said acute diverticulitis. I was kind of surprised how my wbc dropped from 4.0 to 3.1 since August. I have to do my cat scan on February 3 and then…

anyone had RICE treatment
My dad had his Dr. Appt on Monday and they changed his treatment to RICE. He starts this treatment on Tuesday. It seems like this is much more draining and involved than RCHOP. I know my dad is nervous about the hospital stay for 5 days. Has anyone had this treatment?

Roller coaster ride trying to decide
Thought that the decision had been made..still deciding Chemo every two months for 2 years or Radiation infusion Zevilin. Worried about secondary cancer that maybe cause by radiation. We know that we shouldn't be worried about the unknown and deal with what we do know and that's making sure lymphoma is kept away, but still…
