Hi Zippy12
Hi Zippy12,
My name is Liz, I'm 35 mother of 3 kids and a hubby. I was also diagnosed with SMZL stage IV, I had a tumor in my Spleen and liver and I also had bone marrow involvement. My Oncologist started Rituxan two weeks ago, for me Chemo would have hurt me more because I have another illness that could have gotten worse. So as long as this cancer doesn't get worse my treatment will consist of 4 doses of Rituxan once a week, rest for six months then repeat. I don't know what's gonna happen later on for me, right now I do have a lot of pain in my lower back down to my legs, I also have pain in my spleen and liver not a lot but still a little uncomfortable. I think that once your done with the 2 yrs the oncologist still needs to monitor the patient by doing CT or PET scans and blood work just to make sure the cancer is not back. I'm still in the learning process, (and as I have learned here) everybody is different and not two cases are alike!
Well take care of yourself and your hubby!
Sincerely,

I appreciate the quick response:) I am sorry that you are having pain. Being a wife and mother it must really be challenging to keep your energy up and go through all the rituxan treatments. Our children are adults so it is mostly just us dealing with the day to day challenges. I wish you strength and love to overcome this.
Sincerely,
Terry0
