Count me in.
Well, just wanted to say hello and thanks. Been watching the board for a while to gain info. Beginning of Sept, I had a pain in my right side. Went to my GP and they sent me for an ultrasound. They saw something on my right kidney. Doc called and said it was an AML. Then said it wasn't super clear and to get a CT done. Had…

Finally got my surgery date...
Jan 24th. Not happy about waiting another 6 weeks, but what can I do. Since the cancer grew .5 cm in a 3-4 month period and is 2 cm now, I'm scared that between my last CT scan and surgery date (9 weeks) that it is going to grow more which could potentially put it at 3-4 cm.

Edema anyone?
Prior to my kidney removal in July, I was swollen all over. After surgery, my swelling went down. The past month my hands swell so bad at night that it is painful. Anyone else have the hand swelling?

Am I overthinking it?
Surgery is 12/20, doc says it has not spread, and that he can remove just the bad part, but I just wonder once he gets in there if there will be more than meets the eye. I'm sure I'm worried over nothing, but that's just my nature. BRW , you ALL have been great, this is a wonderful forum! Sal

May I ask how your kidney cancer was detected?
hello- I'm just wondering how everyone's kidney cancer was found? My beloved sister's was found stage 4 after having stomach pains for a while. She passed away shortly after her kidney removal surgery (nephrectomy?). I miss her every day and still mourn for her. It has been 2 years but seems like just yesterday. Like…

Self Pity
Some background. I'm a worrier by nature. I've worried about getting cancer since I was a teenager, I'm 55. I have anxiety and depression for which I take medication. I went to my PCP on 9/8 because I was having abdominal pain, mostly lower left. I had an abdominal ultrasound 9/12. They saw something they couldn't quite…

Two months out - lots of emotions
Hi. I’m Gary. I’m new to this group and glad I found you. Mid-to-late January I went to my doc because of bloody urine. They ran tests, saw no signs of infection or any obvious cause, and thought it was probably kidney stones. They said we’d redo the test in a week. Less than a week after that, I was in severe discomfort…

Cancer and job
My husband had a nephrectomy on Sept. 6, and found out today via phone call by the business owner his services will no longer be required. They are extremely busy and need people that can work...now. Desk job, no union, I know there are probably laws against this but who really wants to go there now and where would it get…

Incision Pain
Ok all. One more thing and hopefully the last. The area of my larger incision ( from nephrectomy) is painful when coughing and laughing. The outside is totally fine. It is deeper inside where it hurts. I have to hold the area when I cough or laugh and it still hurts. The other day I could barely laugh at all bc of how sore…

NED
On Monday my husband had his first scans since his nephrectomy in September. Dr's office called this afternoon (after what seemed like an eternity) with good news, everything looks good! Yes, now we can breath again and plan for the holidays. It still amazes me the anxiety I seem to get, he appears to handle it all well.…

Pathology Back - Cystic Nephroma
Hi, well I guess I am going to have to find another group to join. My surgeon rang today to say it was a Cystic Nephroma - rare benign tumour - still had to come out - follow up will be much simpler. This has coincided with me having a terrifc day health wise, feel almost like my old self, all the swelling and pain seems…

Complex cyst - terrified
No cancer diagnosis, but a growing cyst that was found incidentally this spring. 6 month ultrasound follow up shows growth from 1.3cm to 2.3cm with some nodules. Radiology said check again in 6 months but my doc is referring me for a urology consult. Everything I’ve read says I shouldn’t be panicked, but I’m scared to…

Kidney Cancer and PH Level
I have been pushed from pillar to post in the UK, contacted so many organisations without any answers regarding PH levels when first diagnosed with Cancer and also PH Levels for patients that are in Spontaneous Remission, Why is this data being hidden? I am no expert but I believe there is a Link between Diet and cure, my…

Feeling unprepared
Surgery scheduled for the 27th-feeling so unprepared. Will I be able to be home alone once I'm discharged? What were you able to do for yourself right away? I'm such an independent person and would rather be doing for others-I think this is going to be tuff. What foods should I have in the house that might be tolerable…

Broncoscopy biopsy - Part 1
Well, I got initial good news. Doc called and had half of my results back. They had taken five forcip samples and some fluids. They got the fluids' results back, and they were NED. While this is great news, we're still waiting for the results of the hard samples they pulled from my lung nodule. I'm trying to stay positive,…
