New Here- Please Help
Hi Everyone, I’ve debated posting and figured it would be easier than scouting through all of the posts on here to see if I can relate to any, which is what I normally do. My dad is the person who has CCRCC. It was discovered in September, when my 4 year old son jumped on his side while he was laying down. It’s been a bit…

Post Op?
I’m having an open patial on my right kidney on the 26th. Once home, how tough will stairs be? How long before I can shower? Just wondering as I’m trying to plan a few things. Did just buy a really comfy recliner.

First Meeting with Medical Oncologist
Had my first meeting with an oncologist today to review my pathology report. He certainly had some insights that I hadn't heard from the Urologist, nor did I absorb while looking at Path report. First, he said my left kidney had 3 tumors: 4cm, 2cm and a cyst with cancerous cells. He said that one kidney was pretty well…

One Person's Cabo Vacation
Hi. First time poster here, and in all likelihood I won't be back regularly. But I did want to share my experience. Back in June of last year I was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cancer with numerous bone mets. After the initial panic, I started to use this board as a research tool. Then treatment started. I had one very…

Surgical Biopsy tomorrow
I've been a little lax here lately. Work has been extra stressful, and by the end of the day, I just haven't had the energy to read and respond. And now I'm back in the thick of "adventures in diagnostics." After three inconclusive, minimally invasive attempts to identify my lung nodules, tomorrow I go in to have a couple…

Endurance? Or lack there of
So 4 weeks out partial nephrectomy. I’m in no way someone who is in tip top shape. However, I always have been able to just go and go. I wake up I’m good and by mid day I’m running on empty. I shoveled snow yesterday twice; usually a little invigorating. I was ready to go to bed for the rest of the day. Is this how you all…

My sister, aged 31 was diagnosed with PRCC type 2 stage 4 5 weeks ago, the day before she gave birth to her beautiful baby girl. She was told that the tumour in her kidney is about 8cm and the only other involvment are the lymph nodes. She has recently started sutent which we have read is always very effective. I would…

Proper Care of Your Caregiver
Warning: This is going to get pretty dark. Don't read beyond this point if you don't want a "downer". Many of you know my history. I visited the doctor after many years of not visiting the doctor and was eventually found to have stage 4 RCC. As my disease has quickly progressed, I've suffered spinal cord compression, hip…

Urologist or Oncologist, or both?
Curious at to how many people with low grade RCC only see their urologist. Is it safe? I keep reading that RCC is so tricky and needs to be watched and treated by a specialist. My urology doctor assured me that he "got it all" and declared me NED after surgery in September. I was healing and doing great, feeling better,…

Path report on husband’s new tumor and adrenal gland: Miracles do happen.
I posted about the 4 cm ish small bowel tumor they found when my husband went for his 4 year follow up scans for his chromophobe kidney cancer diagnosis. The tumor appeared out of nowhere and was not on his CT scan from 9 months ago. We were told to expect ladenocarcinoma or another cancer, metastatic disease was less…

Newbie here. Diagnosed incidentally first week of November 2017 (3.5cm in size and hilar location). First urologist said laproscopic radical was the way to go. Went for 2nd opinion. They did chest x-ray (clear) and biopsy (papillary renal cell carcinoma, type 1) and suggested partial open. Going with partial open. Meeting…

Cleared for Right Robotic partial surgery next Wednesday. NO colon cleanse! Yeah! No special diet, BUT strongly recommended that I do a soft diet Monday and Tuesday. Current medicine directive given. General anesthesia with a nerve block before recovery! SO excited about that too.

Craving??
This is getting ridiculous now lol!! I have had the strongest craving for chocolate for around 4 days now. I have eaten it yet the craving will not go away. It is not a typical sugar craving like I want anything (cookies, icecream). It is specifically chocolate. I have craved veggies too and eat those every day. Just…

low grade pain in loin area
Hi all, I don't know if I am having a psychosomatic pain, but for the last 2 days I have been having a low grade pain/discomfort in my left loin area. Is my tumor potentially growing? On the scan it was bulging out of the lower portion of the kidney. I am worried that it may envelope the fascia or grow through it. Is this…

To all re: profiles
I would like to ask everyone, including me, to update profiles. There is no faster way to offering bad advice if we can't access some member history. It gets very tiresome especially with the one or two hit people who ask for a personal education in surgery and drug therapy. We get a few line introduction which no one can…

About Sslee723
I have been wondering about Sslee because she was very sick and stopped posting here. I guessed her name and used google to find some gofundme pages and a funeral home page. Search for 'Stephanie Lee West Babylon'. She died on October 17th. Steve.

Stage IV is only over when the fat lady sings!
And I hope she can't find the music.... Since September, I've had 3 sets of labs, 3 CT's, a brain MRI, almost a biopsy(cancelled once I was fed into the CT machine and she saw the spot), a DXA scan, a mammogram, 2 appts. with my Internist, 3 appts. with the Oncologist or Nurse Pract.; and there's still more to go. The…

Being paranoid
So I'm sure I am just being hypersensitive... I hope. I am having a dull deep pain in my right leg (thigh) and wonder if I should be concerned. I had a bone scan the day before my surgery (12/5/17) and it came back clear. Am I being paranoid? Could something spring up that fast?
