What can I do to alleviate my husband's abdominal pain?
My husband is currently in the middle of his 3 round of Xeloda and Oxaliplatin (2 weeks Xeloda, 1 week off, with an infusion of Oxaliplatin at the beginning of each round.) He has had a lot of abdominal pain lately. Maybe its the Oxaliplatin? I will ask his doctor today. I am at a loss as to how to help him. He has to go…

new web design
I find the new design not as user friendly as before. I prefer old design. I'm just curious -- what is the general concensus about the new design for this discussion board? I used to check on almost daily, but now I doubt I will be here as often as before.

Anyone have high blood sugar problem?
Okay, I know its not a significant issue, but it is the one thing I have a problem with regarding diet. I am craving fruit but my sugar sky rockets if I eat it. I love eating dark cherries ( so good with bioflavinoids) and cantelope, which is in season now and rich in vitamins (I'm making myself hungry just thinking about…

Hi gang, Well I was at the oncologist and xray, ultrasound and bloodwork indicate that I am still NED. Definitely naked happey dance time. I am looking forward to a holiday with my family. My dearest family...
Well, one of the lessons cancer teaches us is that we need to live each day to it's fullest, because we never know. My beau's mother passed away last night. She was almost 86, and doing remarkably well. She was a holocaust survivor. And lost a son to an anyurism when he was 15. She was a grand lady, and I will miss her…

Lung Surgery - Well It's done....
Hi everyone: I had 15 nodules removed from both my lungs last Thursday. Unfortunately there is still one remaining that they think can probably be dealt with radiation, and one that was removed but he is not positive he was able to get clear margins. I just seem to feel a little lighter, and a LOT sorer (is that a word?).…

This is quite a new life I'm etching out for myself. I was extremely busy before this and never sick maybe a cold once or twice per year, but that's all. Stage 4 Newbie
I have been visiting this board for two months now. It is about time I introduce myself. I am 51 year young. In May 2008 I was diagnosed with rectal cancer with multiple mets to liver and lung. Docs say the liver is not operable, because of the numbers and size of the mets (biggest is 8cm). The lung shows some activities…

Nose bleeds
Has anyone had massive nose bleeds with treatment? Yesterday I had to call 911 as it was so severe and I was faint and weak from my last infusion. I live alone so it was scary. My platelets were low, but not too bad so all is OK now. This is about the fourth one I have had in about two months. It starts all of a sudden as…

Easy way of changing an ostomy pouch .
I have figured out a way to replace an ostomy pouch without the adhesive pulling and hurting the skin as it comes off. There is an "adhesive remover" you can get with ostomy goods that comes in a towelette and if you will open it up and rub it completely around the adhesive on the pouch and wait for 5 minutes it will…
