12th Folfox treatment done, I am done with chemo for good I hope
I had a pleasant surprise, I had always been thinking I had to take 13 treatments of Folfox but the Oncologist came through and said this is number twelve and I think we should stop, wait a couple weeks and we'll get some labs and a couple more and another PET scan. I am of course pleased, but it's a shock for everything…

Starting oxaliplatin and 5FU
I'm starting Chemo on 6/3 and was wondering if anyone has had oxaliplatin and 5FU. I was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer and had surgery on 4/30 to remove 1 foot of my colon along with a baseball size tumor. The tumor was malignant and was told I have to do 12 cycles of Chemo. Thanks

Insurance
Oh Boy....... Wow, I didn't even think this was going to be an issue. I have Aetna insurance thru my husbands work. Just found out that Cancer Treatment Centers of America do not take it as it is a HMO and they would be out of network which would not cover them. I have been on this computer doing research until my tummy is…

pancreatic cancer board
I have two friends that have pancreatic cancer, I told them to come check out this site. One just e-mailed me and said there wasn't a pancreatic cancer page. I checked and sure enough there isn't one. I think we should all e-mail the administrator and have them start one. I understand why ACS might not want to have one but…

CEA is rising- seeing onc Monday
I mentioned a couple of weeks ago on one of the threads that my CEA count had gone up slightly above normal. CEA has been a good marker for me- the only other times it's ever gone up for me before was when something was going on (tumors growing). It's not terribly high as some people have had,but it is going up. When I was…

Constipation
Does anyone have BAD constipation. I have an urge to have a bowel movement about every 5 days. I take stool softners but they don't help. Now if you don't like ukky stuff, don't read anymore. I have to "help" the first three of four pushes by wearing a rubber glove and actually pulling out the stool. Sometimes that works…

Changing Your Picture
I've tried the "search" topic on this forum when I posted before on "how to add your picture" and the search topic is useless. I can't remember how to add it or change it. I found the edit button and photo, but I'm doing something wrong. I've even been on the main page to see if they gave any clues and didn't see it there…

Trying to understand treatment options for Stage 4 colon cancer
My father was diagnosed with cancer two weeks ago. He had surgery at Mt. Sini three days ago. We thought the cancer was very early and contained (all CEO/pt/ct tests came back normal). When they opened him up they found the cancer had spread outside the rectum wall. They say it is microscopic and could not remove it all.…
