I'm in the middle of my second set of scans since chemo ended in December. Just had a biphasic CT scan on Thursday and picked up a copy of the report. There is no evidence of recurrence in my liver or lungs altho they did note a nodule there. Happy news! But then they drop me out of the plane with no parachute with the…

Now I am really, really mad!
So, when my GP first scheduled a GI appointment for me, I mentioned that the doctor's name seemed familiar. When I went in for my first appointment, I realized he was the doctor that misdiagnosed me a little over a decade ago. I called my GP's office and told them I was uncomfortable having this doctor treat me (and why)…

Has anyone had a colonoscopy while taking Avastin?
I have not had another colonoscopy since my initial diagnosis in Aug. '07. I had a sigmoidoscopy in March '08, which was good, but haven't had anything since then. Two out of three oncologists I've consulted with told me as long as I'm on Avastin, I can't get a colonoscopy done. I'm still on Avastin every other week as…

Nail or No Nails??? Dye or No Dye???
I am feeling pretty **** with bitten off finger nails and gray roots hanging out. All I can say is my husband must really love me. Anyway, I have heard fake nails are not wise but I don't know why. Also, I know I cannot use a heavy duty hair dye but what about a temp. rinse? I would appreciate your input. Thank you Jennie

HAI Pump Therapy
When I was first diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer with 5 mets to the liver I was told by an oncologist at our local cancer center that I was inoperable. I am confused
I have been having chemotherapy for five months now. The seven tumors left over from my surgery have only changed a tenth of a cm. Four have gotten larger, three have gotten smaller, but in such a small degree and a new tumor above the umbilicus has popped up. Why am I doing chemo? I thought it was to shrink the tumors or…

New clinical trial for those who've exhausted conventional chemo
There is a new trial CNTO 328. It has had small trials in europe on a few different cancers. It seems to be following the same pattern as many of the new protein inhibitors. If it works, it works well.

I saw my oncologist wednesday just for a checkup and he also went over the results of my Cat scan that was done on July 6th. Everything looked good and normal but he mentioned that my heart was enlarged. This surprised me because I've never ever had any problems or symptoms. He didn't mention that I needed any testing or…

Really Rough Skin
I just noticed that my upper chest has really rough skin. I even took the wash cloth and rubbed it harder than a normal wash in the shower and it's still so rough. It feels like it is peeling or rough like a sunburn would but doesn't look red or anything. My nurse told me to wear sunscreen (which I don't) because I'm not…

I'm about to panic!
Well, two years out from diagnosis and i haven't had a colonscopy since. My oncologist said i'd better get one immediately because this was the time people had their recurrences.
