to Lake Tahoe, Reno and San Francisco the middle of January. If there's anyone out there that lives close by and would like to meet up with me, give a holler. Sometimes I think of driving cross country and meeting all my CSN family. Maybe one day I'll do just that!!!!! Laureen

Forgive me if I missed the post this Memorial Day Weekend, but I didn't see anything like this posted as of yet this weekend and I know some had talked about starting a thread listing everyone we can recall whom we have lost on the colorectal board this past year. BTW, I did just notice today that CSN does have a general…

MRI /Ct scan
I have been reading about the dangers of scans. I was dx in April 2009, and have had all the standard procedures related to CRC -- rectal tumor removed/j pouch etc. I was reconnected about 2 months ago. I was wondering what your opinions are regarding CT scans versus MRI. thanks

Dr. says no colonoscopy needed for Stage IV's ????
Hi All, We need your opinions on this one... Rick and I went to a new doctor yesterday, and after we asked her if Rick should have a colonoscopy since it's been a year this month since diagnosis, she told us, "No, we don't give colonscopies to Stage IV patients with metastases.". Huh? Am I mistaken in the belief that if…

It's a good life (good way to start your new year)
I forgot again who originally shared this, but it's really worth re-posting. I keep listening to it and thought it would be a great and positive start to our new year. Go to--- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zARiyTFUovQ The song is called It's a good life, by Ben Carroll. (don't you just love his heart!) Thank you again to…

Why is my reconnection going so damn good?
My attitude working with the fantastic skill set of my colon surgeon Dr. Todd W. Arends. He is located in west St. Louis County. When he did the lower bowel resection, he did it right. That made the reconnection he did 101 days later work perfect. After reading so many horror stories here about reconnections. I have to…

Strategy 2 was done a long time ago. I am blunt. They do not take responsibility for their actions in our relationship. 1 and 3 I am working on as soon as I get some rest. I would have never opened the bank except for extreme mergency illnesses.

Still here/Happy New Year
Hi All, I'm still here, just been fighting a cold for the last two weeks so I have not been on the computer much. As strange as it sounds, I'm grateful to just be dealing with the run of the mill cold. The really wierd thing is, while I was doing chemo I never caught a cold or the flu. I was really worried about that since…

not the best news I'm afraid
Well, the Doctor told us the tumors are back and growing on Jim's liver. He has a spot on his lung which showed up on the CT scan but did not glow on the PET scan so we'll remain optimistic about that one. Dr said surgery would not be an option right now and Jim will need to change from the folfox (which obviously was…

I can't believe it's been a little more than a year

I try to log in every day to see how everyone is doing, but feel I don't offer much in giving advice anymore. There are so many more people here who are much more…
