Thanks
Thank you all for being here for John and myself. You helped so much with information on so much stuff. At the first it is such a shock and I turned to all of you.
John called the shots right to the end. He went 42 days without food and could still walk some. Was talking and with us till the end. The hospice nurse couldn't believe that he was still going. I think he would have lived to be 100 if it weren't for the cancer. He wanted to go before the end of the year because of the insurance starting over and he did. It was also his mother's birthday.
We both want you all to keep up the fight and hope. Thanks to all of you. I haven't been on the board and have lost track of where people are. I will check in from time to time after things calm down. Love and best to all of you from John (JR) and myself. Paula -

Paula... I'm so sorry to hear of John's passing and the emotional roller coaster you must be on right now. I'm glad that John called the shots and did it his way... hopefully that is a comfort for you as you are dealing with this huge loss. I'm not sure I understand when you say he wanted to go before the end of the year because of the insurance starting over (??).
You know you are in our thoughts and this home is your home as well. When things calm down, you know we'll have your chair waiting for you to come back any time and we'll be here for you to talk to because you know we all understand the journey you and John went on together.

Hi Paula,
I'm so sorry to hear of JR's passing. Tina kept me informed through PM's, and so I was at least glad that when it finally happened, that it was peaceful.
It is unbelievable to me how long he went without food- wow. Like you said, he probably would have lived to 100 if it hadn't been for the cancer.
Just know that I am praying for you and your family & am sending cyberhugs to you. I wish I could be there in person to give you a hug and help you out in any way possible.
Do take care-

Paula,
My wish for you and your sons, is to find peace and the strength to be happy inspite of JR's passing. I'm happy to hear John was able to do it his way all the way until the end. While I don't know the pain of losing a spouse, I lost my Dad 12 years ago. To this day I still miss him very much, but the fond memories of Dad make it bearable.
Please come back every now and again and let us know how you all are doing, we will always be here for you.
