Post-menopausal & Tamoxifen
Hi to all you young ladies who have passed through menopause and are taking Tamoxifen. Have any of you experienced feelings of your body trying to have a menstrual cycle - like the bloating, and cramping feeling one usually gets the day of their period? I haven't had a period in 5 years, but the last few days I have…

back from doctor
Well everyone, I seen the cardiologist today. She said things seem alright, but I don't think she had all the info. My ventricle in my heart is enlarged, but the echocardiogram put me on the high end of normal limits. Not sure what to do, I see my oncolgist on Thursday. I am hoping that she will have some better answers…

annual check-ups
I had a bilateral mastectomy a few months ago. (Am doing fine!) I am extremely lucky..the cancer was confined to the ducts and no spread to the nodes. I do not need drugs, radiation or chemo. I know that my chances for ovarian cancer have now increased. Is there a test that can check for this, instead of waiting for the…

Questions/Herceptin
Hi to all: Have any of you who are on weekly Herceptin treatments ever missed a week? If so, did it make a difference to next treatment? I have never missed one dose in 18 months and wondered if I took a week off to go on a vacation, if it would cause a problem. Also, I have heard that there is research into the…

I'm Well Done!!!
Hi Everyone: I just finished my last radiation treatment today! And when I say I'm "well done", I mean it! Ha. The whole breast phase wasn't too bad and began healing immediately afterward. The "boost" phase, though, has left me quite red and feeling burned but I feel confident that it too will begin to heal quickly. It's…

Breast Cancer on Mastectomy Site
I have breast cancer that has spread to my bones. It has also been visible on my skin since this January in the area where they did the mastectomy three years ago. At first the oncologist was sending me for radiation treatments to take care of the skin, but since I'm so far "advanced" with the breast cancer, he's…

Anyone have Quadramet or Metastron?
Nearly four weeks ago I had an injection of Quadramet which is a radioactive infusion they give to bone cancer patients to control pain. I was assured over & over that Quadramet had no side effects other than lowered blood counts & a possible pain flare-up after three days which could be controlled by analgesics.…

Post radiation question
Do radiation treatments make you more susceptible to bronchial infections since your lungs are in the field of treatment - or is it the fact that our immune systems stay suppressed for a while. I have a cough that I can't get rid of - the dr. says its viral.

This is my kind of SUPPORT
I never really felt comfortable being around people I didn't know talking about me. Since get hooked to the net and finding this place I truly feel connected as a person. For years life didn't really mean anything... I went along and a sang my song, did my work. Now life speaks to me and I often don't know what to do about…

Just a day. In the life.
I guess it is my turn, to truly use the board, for something I have learned to appreciate since finding this place. I am so grateful that so many have found this in their time of need. I too, found it in mine, so it seems. I have an appointment on Friday to see what might be going on down in that bellie of mine. I have…

Best of Luck
I just wanted to wish you the best on your Friday surgery. I know this is a very difficult time, but I'm sure you know you'll get through this. My situation is very mild compared with yours. I had been diagnosed with breast cancer back in June and had surgery (lumpectomy & sentinel node). I'm also having my last chemo…

Last chemo !!!!
Hello, just wanted to say that I've finished my last chemo and will start Hormone treatment this week. I met with the oncologist last week and he said I could opt to do another round of chemo, Taxol, but he said I was borderline and he said that the choice was mine, he explained that it would give me a small percentage in…
