ROLL CALL: Weekend before Thanksgiving plans?!
Well, ladies, I'm feeling a bit subdued today. Some of it has to do with that gov. taskforce guidelines on mammography. There are some good discussions about it over on youngsurvival.org if anyone wants to check it out. I started a (kind of depressing) thread over there about some issues with these guidelines and having…

Surgeon vs. Oncologist
This is my latest dilemma. My last treatment of Chemo was on October 26th. My Oncolgist said it was time to see the surgeon to determine is I was ready for surgery.(did this the 12th) My tumor started at 3cm. After the 1st round, no change, 2nd it got down to 2cm. My gut feeling said I would probably do at least 1 more…

Brachytherapy with catheters or regular rads
First time on this site. I had a lumpectomy tumor size <1 cm, clear margins, no lymph node involvement stage 1. Have been given the choise of either regular 7 weeks of rads or the brachytherapy treatment with insertion of catheters. I have only found one other person that has had this treatment to talk to and need more…

I feel the BC has taken enough(not taking my life aside) I must draw the line at taking my sex life! I was on A/C and then Taxol, now just Herceptin. I am experiencing painful intercourse to the point I can't have…

Bladder Issues
Hi All I'm new to this discussion board but done with my chemo. I'm IDC, stage 1, ER/PR pos, HER2 pos. no lymph nodes. Had a lumpectomy in June, 4 rounds of A/C and 1 round of Taxol. Stopped Taxol after a really bad reaction to it. I've started Herceptin 11/4 and I start radiation next week. Now onto my issue--I have blood…

OMG....What a surprise!
You probably already guessed it, but I was the next recipient of the secret sister ornament exchange!! It couldn't have been timed any better. I was feeling down (long, long road to recovery) and managed to pick up a cold from the only venture out of my house, since surgery, to the Onc's office! That is the reason you have…

Anyone have the paravertebral block when having mastectomy?
Has anyone had the paravertebral block for mastectomy? My surgeon has offered it to me, but I'm a little nervous about it...especially since I'm told I have to be fully awake with no anti-anxiety meds to receive it. The pros are that there is less general anesthesia and less need for pain meds after surgery. Just curious…

First Chemo went A-OK!
Well, like most people I dreaded this day and feared the worst! Granted it has only been 1 1/2 hrs since I got done but I feel fine. They gave me anti-nausea meds before chemo and sent more home with me for the next 4 days. They seem to think that the nausea will be at its worst tomorrow and the next day.. I am hoping I…

Nicest thing....
The nicest thing happened to me today. I was in Kohls buying my rad approved cotton bras and met a one year survivor in line. I told her I was starting my rads on Monday and she gave me a lot of encouragement and talked with me while walking out to our trucks. I told her I was impressed on how much of her hair had grown…

Found a new lump after BC & would like some input
A week ago, I was at a party & listening intently to conversations while stroking the inside of my knee. I didn't realize why -- there was a lump there, hard, rolling, connected to something. I got the exact same response in my gut instinct as I did with the tumor in the breast. That rock bottom NOOO! I am about to go to…

Just wondering - for those who have had surgery - when you left the hospital did they let you walk out? Guess I'm still sharing the Moopster with that NED guy...
Okay, so yesterday (11/18/2009) was Moopy's first "cancerversary." She really didn't want to make a big deal of it because she was also scheduled for 3 CT scans yesterday morning. As we all know too well, scanxiety can take the joy out of just about anything. But the technician who administered the CT scans was very smiley…

SURGERY IS SCHEDULED NOW ♥♥ PLEASE PRAY FOR ME
