You are so brave. I bawled
You are so brave. I bawled when I lost my hair and bawled again when I bought a wig. Now it seems so vain--especially when I see so many brave women like you. My hair wasn't even that great ;-)0 -
Hi
It is a rough time going through hair loss. Alot of crying about it, for me. I sure had a head full to lose! My sister cut it about 14 days after 1st treatment, then shaved it a week later. Then it was wig time. I have a couple I like that look natural. Good luck to you through this process, it can be a little traumatic because it's so sudden when it happens.0 -

I cut my hair before I started my chemo. By the 2nd chemo I had lost it all. Didn't think I would but got use to being bald, use to wear scarves all different colours when I went out. My hair started to grow back as soon as I finished chemo. Its even better know than before.
You will get through this. Best wishes to you.0 -
Good for you!
I shaved my head at home by myself and then had a good long cry. I got used to being bald after awhile. Guess what -- your head gets cold when you're just hanging around the house. I got a couple little cotton caps from ACS and wore them to bed. My hair started growing in right away after chemo started!
Peace.

Good for You!
That was very brave of you & way to take charge! I had very long hair, I donated it and got so many compliments on how much "younger" I looked so I never shed a tear. It was so much easier to deal with short. I enjoyed it until that faithful day I had to shave it all off. Now, I just look forward to the surprise of how it will grow back in. Straight or curly? What color? Hopefully NOT gray! :-)Good Luck on your first Chemo. Let us know how you're doing.

I had mine cut short before chemo treatment and then shaved on day 15. I was without hair from 3/17 til the middle of June. I had my first haircut 2 wks ago and feels like I need another one. My hair was 3 inches when I went for my first cut after chemo.
I didn't have a hard time when I had my hair cut before chemo it was day 14 when my hair came out in clumps in the shower when I lost it--so far that has been my first and only time that I lost it.

I shaved my hair after my second chemo. My scalp was so sore but after the hair was buzzed the pain was gone. I told myself if my hair didnt fall out the chemo must not be working. Now I kinda like being bald, put on a wig if I want to if I not I put on a cap, usually a toboggan since its getting chilly
