Anyone with BC radiated as infant for enlarged thymus
There is a discussion similar to this on the thyroid site as there are manyh with thyroid cancer or thyroid disease caused by infant/childhood radiation. I had a BC mastectomy and it is very important that you let your radiation oncologist know you had this childhood raddiation if you did. Mine told me she would never do…

OK to chew or split Tamoxifen pill?
I have swallowing issues and I know I won't be able to swallow this pill whole once I have to start it next month. I know there is a liquid form, but it is expensive and I cannot afford it. The only way I'll be able to get this down is if I either chew or split it in two. Anyone else do this? This is causing me so much…

Herceptin OR herceptin and perjeta? Update
My favorite, most trusted onc of 26 years mentioned that he wanted me to have herceptin and perjeta indefinitely after stopping taxotere. My new, local onc mentioned continuing only herceptin. I told him other onc wanted both and he didn't see why. Well I hate getting caught in these kinds of situations and felt…

CLOTHING DURING RADIATION TREATMENTS
I read online reviews from previous Radiation Patients for 2 full days... I took notes & their advice. I'm so thankful for those women's reviews. I experienced very little redness & I did very well through the whole event, start to finish. (I also wrote on this site, under Breast Cancer topic, 'Creams & Lotions'... or did…

Scalp itching!!
I had a double mastectomy on Oct 21st with reconstructive surgery (expanders). I started chemo on Dec 2nd (cytoxen, methotrexate, 5FU) - my scalp has been itching for the past 8 days (even the inside of my ears and nose). Is this a precursor to my hair falling out?? I did shave my legs last Friday (11th) and have yet to…

I am finishing up my four rounds with Adriamycin and now looking forward (?) to four rounds of Taxol for my stage 2 breast cancer. bilateral masectomy with prepectoral breast reconstruction
I'm getting ready to have a bilateral masectomy with a prepectoral breast reconstruction. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm wondering about recovery time. I work from home on a computer and wonder when I can return to work. I'm also considering a nipple sparing procedure.

Life after treatment
I am almost 2 years out of treatment for stage 3 breast cancer. I am really struggling emotionally. I was naive to think that after treatment, life goes back to “normal“. There are a lot of things that I have experienced that were unexpected. Anybody have similar experience?

just like sixth grade all over again...
Well, it is just about like sixth grade all over again. I am 63, but skinny, thin weird hair, flat as a board and not much in the way of eyebrows or eyelashes. Also, no boyfriend. At least I am alive - but the similarity does not escape me.

Hello so my mother was recently staged with stage 3 breast cancer. She’s already had her breast removed and got 26 lymph nodes removed. 17 out of 26 came back positive for cancer and all the lymp nodes on her right side where her tumor was came back positive and all the lymph nodes on her left side came back negative. She…

Latissimus Flap Breast Reconstruction
Hello. I had my second failed attempt at breast reconscrution this past August. This last attempt was utilizing the DIEP flap procedure. One by one the flap failed. hair loss
My first chemo is set for this week, six days after I have to be in court for my husband's disability hearing. Can anyone tell me how long before the hair loss starts? I know it sounds silly, considering what all is happening, but I don't want to look too weird in front of a courtroom full of strangers.
