Treatment for HR+/HER- Stage IV metastasized breast cancer - Help!
How did you decide which treatment to use for HR+/HER- mBC? There are so many different options I don't know what side effects to worry about? How do you communicate with your doctors about the different medications?

Hi amndafayth,
Hi amndafayth,
I too have the same diagnosis. Diagnosed in September 2017, mets to lower spine. I've been on Ibrance and Letrozole with injections of Zomteta (for bones) once a month. I have responded very well to this regimine. Lucky me (so far!) Losing a little hair, small bone pain, gaining a little weight...all small considering what other people go through. I'm 55 and in good health otherwise. I live in Boston and am also lucky to have the best doctors around. Keep in touch and let me know how you're doing. God bless us all. -Kat

Letrozole
Hi Everyone,
I have been taking Letrozole since the beginning of April. Today I forgot to take at the usually time, and took it 2 hours later. Tomorrow should I take it at the usual time or should I take it at the same time I took it today. Best regards, MapleLeaf

Personally, I would feel fine to go back to your normal time since you've been on that on a regular schedule.

Do you feel comfortable with
Do you feel comfortable with your doctor(s)? Ask, ask and ask again. I was diagnosed with BC in 2015. I had Chemo, double mastectomy, radiation, and oophorectomy. Took letrozole for 3 year until last year I was diagnosed with metastasized BC. It was treated with radiation since it was a tumor only, switched to Xgeva shots (for the bones) and tamoxifen. That didn't work, my scan showed 2 more tumors in bones, after radiation. I waited 3months for my follow up scan, it showed more tumors. Currently on Xgeva, Ibrance and Faslodex. Hope it works, next option if it doesn't is full chemo. So, I get why you are so confused. Letrazole and tamoxifen made me gain weight, I had headaches and hot flashes. Letrazole made me depressed. Current medication is making me extremely tired and my hair is falling a bit, loss some weight since the meds make me sick. But as the time goes by it's not as bad. And with all these meds you might feel forgetful, something like "chemo brain". Through all this my doctor have always been there to answer questions, give me alternatives and listened to my concerns. So as I said before ask and ask again until you feel comfortable with your decision.
