Growth on Thyroid
I had my physical and the Dr. found a growth on my thyroid. I have to have a sonogram done on it next week. I know that there is a 90% chance that it is nothing but I was told that about the lump in my breast too, and they were wrong about that one. I feel like I am being paranoid but I can't help wishing that the sonogram…

Surgery in a couple of hours- bring on the pain meds!
Hi ladies! My girls weekend was exactly what I needed. We skied two days, went to the hot springs, drank lots of wine, played board games, watched movies and sat in the hot tub. It was perfect and so relaxing. Surgery is first thing tomorrow morning. I have to be at the hospital at 6am and the surgery is scheduled for 8am.…

Back from oncologist's and I feel better (loooong post)
I guess maybe I feel better because first, I have a wonderful oncologist who answers any and all questions, gives me all the time I need, and treats me like I'm her older sister with a big hug when I leave. Second, I have a couple of treatment options that don't sound too horrible, and third, I feel like I have some…

I had a R breast biopsy in the hospital on Friday. Late yesterday I got a call from my doc that the path report was all clear! I have atypical tissue caused by scaring from a breast tumor removed in '98. I have to go back though because they are concerned about a complicated cyst in the L breast. Sigh! I'm confident all…

My oncologist said "No" to donating me kidney!
The Yale Transplant Center is shocked. She feels it will present a risk to my son. The Yale doctors don't agree but she has the final word. I made an appointment to meet her in person to discuss. The transplant center suggests my case be reviewed by a tumor board. That's what I want. I can't live with one person deciding…

Umm... I'm just sitting here in my "chemo scarf" counting the days til my hair grows back and I'm reading on some of these posts that Tamoxifen makes your hair thin!! What?! No way am I dealing with this ever again! Is this a common and significant side effect? If so, what are some alternatives? I start rads in the next…

Hi all, Been a while since I was here. Chemo knocked me on my butt so I wasn't able to finish. I was so miserable with fatigue, shortness of breath and hurting all over I didn't even post here. My PET scan did come back clean though so for this I'm thankful. I was de-ported on January 10th and what should have been a…

Off arimidex, exchange surgery, overwhelmed.
Sorry I just need to get some of the stinking thinking out of my brain. A little history, I was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005, I have been in ongoing treatment and on oral chemo for seven years. Two kinds of skin cancer in between. Than I was diagnosed with breast cancer last july. I had a double mastectomy in august. I…

Many of us have been "deported"-anyone been re-ported?
I am finishing my 15 radiation treatments to my spine on Friday and from there go right to my medical oncologist to discuss what chemo treatment she has in store for me.
