Laz's Wedding.
Sep 16, 2013 - 3:18 pm Thank you so much for all your well wishes. I read every one of them with joy and told my bride about how nice this community is. The wedding day was beautiful. We had 10 guest and we did everything ourselves. The only sad thing was that my ex let my daughter stay for only two hours so she couldn't…

How Do You Stay Positive and Hopeful?
We all know that the cancer journey is a roller coaster ride. You have highs and lows, successes and defeats. In the middle of all this is hard to stay positive and hopeful and we all have to build a new reality. I'm wondering if you have any "technique", ritual, activity or a mental process to get you and keep you in a…

Burning feet!
The bottom of my feet are sometimes burning soooo bad I can't sleep! They are getting worse and now my little toes feel somewhere between a tingle and electric current running through them. I've had it on the mild side for quite awhile but didn't think it would get worse. Anyone else out there have this?

Tomorrow
Well, tomorrow is the big day to meet with the doctor to discuss if there may be mets to the lungs. I had the scan 3 weeks ago, so I am thinking it must be ok, or they wouod have called. I don't want any more cancer. Twice was enough. I know I have asked for prayers before, but I am asking again. My meeting is at 10:30. I…

So I had a PET/CT scan end of August, and a sigmoidoscopy four days ago showing no signs of cancer, so I guess I'm a NED'er now. Finished radiation 2nd week of june so 3 months out from treatment now. bill

Vaginal bleeding?
I am 6 months out from chemo and radiation. I am not hurting as bad now while having intercourse, but bleed during and after. Anyone know from experience if and when this will go away. I am asuming that it is because it is still healing up there. But I need to know if anyone else is or had this happen after radiation and…

Stress and cancer
I don't know if there any studies to corroborate my theory, that prolonged stress can cause cancer. I have seen time and time again in my female friends that they are diagnosed with cancer some number of years after enduring traumatic, long term stress. I know for me, I was diagnosed some years after a horrible, gut…

Suggestions for getting to the end of radiation
I have 13 more radiation treatments. The pain from going to the bathroom is so intense, I can't leave the house for fear of when it will hit. I have been trying hard to keep up my nutrition and not lose weight, but I need suggestions for what to eat to minimize the pain. I take stool softeners and then I have to take…

More on health insurance changes
I finally spoke to someone at the health insurance company today. I was informed that as of January 1, 2014, the policy that I could buy today for $650/month will be $900/month due to the new law. So, I know many here have employer paid insurance and Are not worried about it. I buy on the direct market as an individual.…

Join Me To Celebrate!...
...Martha's (mp327) 5 year anniversary tomorrow on the 9th of September. She needs no introduction here on this forum, in her family, in her community and neither will she in heaven (no rush), because she is a very special lady to all of us. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MARTHA! Laz

Health Insurance...Obamacare
I am in the process of looking for new health insurance, as my COBRA is about to end. Looking at the new ObamaCare estimator, my costs are going to skyrocket for what they call the silver plan, which is inadequate for someone with cancer. Just for that plan, my cost is estimated at 880 per month for an individual and that…

Question about NED
I noticed the post below that some of you have an actual date that you celebrate being NED. I don't know if I ever was or even if I am. What is the date you consider yourself NED? The last day of treatment? I never had scans until recently(big mistake), and there are some issues, so I don't even know if I ever was NED. I…

Skin changes
The skin in the crease between my legs and groin has been darkening, but is suddenly raw, burning and peeling. I assume this is also a burn from radiation, but should I treat it with the same Radiaplex cream? I don't see the doctor for 3 days more so I wondered if anyone could answer?

Getting Married On The 15th!
2 and a half years ago I met a young woman in Santa Monica. I was wounded from a bad marriage and a bitter divorce and afraid of commitment. Over time we grew closer together, appreciated each other's values and qualities that are about the fundamentals: love, keep yourself attractive by always looking good, do admirable…

postoperative myalgia

Scan
I am heading to the hospital for another scan tomorrow. I am praying that all the suspicious nodules they saw in my lungs 2 months ago are gone, or at least have not multiplied and grown. I believe in the power of prayer, so if you have a minute tomorrow afternoon, I would appreciate a prayer. Still believing in miracles!!!

Upcoming Doctor Visits
I have three upcoming doctor visits. Next week I meet with my surgeon (after the scope I bleed for a few weeks), October is a CAT Scan, November is with the radiologist. It seems never ending. I am 2 years out of treatment and cancer crosses my mind everyday. Why do the cancer demons dance in my head at 3:00 am? I have…

a good visit
since my biopsies in June showing my most recent growth as "microinvasive" I have been having follow-ups every few weeks, my visit yesterday was a very good one, I had an anoscopy and barring any unforseen new symptoms I do not have to go back to my oncologist for 3 months, this was good news since I was expecting to go…

Slight anal bleeding.
The way most of us found out that we have cancer is that we had blood in our stool. So did I. However 2-3 weeks into the radiation and Xeloda it stopped and so did my pain. I finished radiation about a month ago and I am on my second Folfox. I still don't see blood in my stool, but when I wipe the tissue paper is light…

Glandular cells present
I went in for routine colonoscopy, which went fine. However, doctor said there was a "nodule" on my anus, and they needed to send some cells to lab for analysis. About a week later, his office called and said I needed to make an appointment for a high resolution anoscopy with a different doctor. First available appointment…

Hard time with my daughter.
Hi Everone, Yesterday something has changed in me. I just finished a long nasty divorce. We lost everything we made with 20 years of hard work, but I'm ok with that, because I started a new life and despite of my cancer I'm very happy. During and after the divorce my ex has alienated my 15 year old daughter from me with…
