Information on the Uterine Board Content Lost in CSN Outage - Updated 5/2/2019
Updated 5/2/2019
Members' Personal Information: Please be aware that CSN lost all the content that had been submitted by site members after October 29, 2018 to January 30, 2019. You may also find that some of your personal information, such as email address, has been changed or is missing. CSN recommends that you check your personal information to make sure that all this information is still correct.
To check your information: Click on CSN Home at the upper left of the screen, then go to My CSN Account – Preferences & Settings.
Lost Posts: Even if no one ever posts a new message to an older discussion topic, we all recognize that this collective history is very valuable to both new and existing members of this board. Therefore, I've restored as many of the old posts that were still available online by searching for old copies of the website pages that had been saved by Google's web cache function.
The content from the Uterine board posts that were lost have either been recapped in new posts or added to discussion topics that had been created before the data outage. The majority of these posts were added or updated with this restored content on February 8, 2019. (In a few cases, restored content had been posted earlier in that week and a few more able to be retrieved as part of this update).
Not every web page was cached on 1/29/2019, so topics with newer posts may or may not be complete. For example, the posts for the topic 3d recurrence decision tree end on the cache date of 1/10/2019, not the date of the last post. And in most cases, only the first page of topics that spanned multiple pages were cached by Google.
Topic List
In addition, I generated a list of topics discussed during this period, also using Google's web cache function. This list was taken from a cached page, as of Jan 29, 2019 18:30:28 GMT, so any posts made after that time were not captured.
This listing is intended to be a quick reminder of the topics that were discussed during this period, when they were discussed, and who initiated the subject.
Initially these cached pages were available on Google, but as CSN reused the web page addresses for new posts added after the data outage, the old posts were periodically overwritten with posts from other boards as Google "crawled" CSN to collect the site data.
Therefore, I've linked the topics below to the posts that I added as "recaps" of the lost content. In a few instances, the posts for particular topics were no longer available. I've left these topics in the list, but they do not have links to the recapped content.

We are very lucky to have you cab
Thank you so much for doing this. It was such an empty feeling to see all those conversations deleted. It really brought home how important this group is. And when you reposted them, it was such a hearwarming feeling to see the conversations again.

God Bless CMB
Every day when I log onto this site, the first post I see is this one - the result of your hard work and concern for all of us here. You preserved our history, and I am so grateful for you. At a time when every minute is precious to all of us, you really sacrificed to make this available to us. Thank you.

It is all disorganized
I thought I would take a look at these posts and they seem to be just random posts from the boards. Is it me or are they now garbled?

sadly, it looks like it links
sadly, it looks like it links to a different cancer - colon - and nothing of Uterine. It is not you, Forherself, I see it too.

Continuing Lost Data Problem
Thanks for flagging this problem Forherself and NoTime. Sadly, CSN has compounded the original data loss problem by reusing the old web addresses that had been assigned to the old uterine board posts to new posts created by other boards.
I'll have to look at each topic in the list above and change the original web address to the one that points to the matching "recap" that I created in early February.
Frankly it never occurred to me that CSN would reuse a block of web addresses. Good data management practice would have been to reset the address algorithm to start with a brand new series of addresses for the posts created after the data loss.
I'll post again when I've completed the cleanup.

What a gift your talent is. It was such a time for many members. Hard to lose those posts. I was just going to read some posts to remember Lady Mox. It has been a hard couple of months.

Topic List Links Fixed
I've updated the topic list of the lost content. Clicking on the topic's title will now take you to the content that I was able to recover and recap for that topic, either back in February or in May for a few newly recovered topics.
Thanks again for alerting me to the problem. I'm glad that others have found the recaps of the lost posts useful.
Keep in mind that since the recaps include the user name in the body of the text, you can search for the post(s) by a specific member by entering the user name in the standard text search box.

you are. As in very sweet person. It is a very valuable service you performed. Those posts were just when I joined and meant alot to me, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I see lots of women who come to the board and read, and don't post. And some posts
would wipe memories of someone completely off the board. Thank you
