Good post!

Thank you for posting this. I'm a big fan of stereotactic radiation - CyberKnife, in my case - because it severely restricted metastatic retroperitoneal lymph nodes that were in a location too dangerous for surgery (next to spine, on top of aorta right below kidneys). The largest was 3.5 cm. I had 5 rounds of CyberKnife in January of this year and my April CT scan indicated the largest was now 1.5 cm and the 'intensity' was below 2, in other words out of the danger zone. I'm surprised it's not used more in our type of cancer; 5 cm is about the upper size limit but it can effectively be used on many different types of tumors.

It was so interesting to me that they included multiple tumor types in their study. And that they saw such major improvements in survival which is usually none to very modest in most studies.

Very mild side effects

Only mild side effects when they brushed up against the vagus nerve (nodes were close by). I puked a couple times and that was it. Had some tiredness but nothing like external radiation, and it was over in 5 rounds spread over 2 weeks.
