Rebuilding the myelin sheath to improve neuropathy issues.
Being that neuropathy seems to come in conjunction with chemo, and is reported to be a result of destruction of the Myelin sheath, being who I am, I had to do some investigating, and with googling, found that myelin sheath destruction is also the major component of ms. So, here's oodles of things on rebuilding the myelin…

Make sure they pay attention to your bones
Despite my bringing this issue up in the very beginning, my doctors pretty much, in their efforts to save my life, ignored the state of my bones ( which were not good before treatment) and now due to the radiation my bones are in dire straights. I’ve had an email nsufficiency fracture of my sacrum and a compression…

Thought the pathology report would clear things up, but ...
Now I'm more confused. Originally, I was textbook adenocarcinoma. Then a CT scan implied that I had pertioneal and omental spread. I was diagonsed UPSC, Stage IVB. From Stage 1 adenocarcinoma to Stage IVB UPSC in two weeks is pretty darn drastic! The CT radiologist's report is ... odd. Even my family doctor said that, so…

INSURANCE DENIALS
So let me start by saying - I am grateful to have insurance (Blue Cross Anthem). With that said, I'm dismayed that the nuelestra (sp)? patch and nuepagin (sp)? shots have been denied twice. I was supposed to have the patch last chemo treatment (Dec 6th); but no one had verified insurance would cover - so did not get it or…

Hello All, Assuming no delays, I will be finishing R6 carboplatin/Taxol Jan 17th & beginning “whole pelvic“ radiation (sorry don’t know tech term) in February. My Oncology Surgeon had initially recommended vaginal cuff radiation; but my oncology radiologist wants to be more aggressive. I‘ll be scheduied for 5 weeks (M-F)…

Thankful for time.
I don't come out hear often but felt the need today. 5 years ago this next week I had my first chemo treatment. I was terrified, of the treatment, of the prognosis and if or how I would live through it all. I did not even think I would be here today given what the Dr.s all said. But apparently God has more planned than…

Update on my weird journey
Well, in September I was told chemo wasn’t working well enough, I was inoperable and they would add a 3rd drug Avastin to “try and stay ahead of the tumors. As of November 6, I’d been admitted to the hospital once with an ER visit because they thought I might be having a heart attack (I wasnt). Around this time my hair…

Scheduled to begin radiation in January TERRIFIED any suggestions?
Before all the biopsy results from hysterectomy came in we thought I was dealing with a completely contained cancer. Now facing 28 radiation treatments. I‘m still in shock and very fearful. Suggestions as to how to prepare mentally, physically and emotionally. I’m usually strong but this has me shook. Thanks for any help.

Blippin' Chemo Rash
I should have realized that things were going a little too smoothly with my chemo. Looking via Dr. Google, it appears to be a garden-variety chemo rash on my arms and legs. Not itchy, and it looks like a nasty heat rash. It's not summer here. It does seem to be getting a little worse, though. I've been trying to reach the…

Umm, chemo body odor?
I am on carbo/taxol, and I have noticed an unpleasant body odor - it is especially strong about 5-7 days post-infusion. I can’t stand it - I sometimes shower twice a day to get rid of it. Does anyone else experience this?

Concerned I may be looking at cancer
Hi ladies, I'm glad I found this board! With so many fears and concerns it's good to have outside ears and advice from others who've gone thru the same things. A quick guided tour of me... I have been dealing with crazy fatigue, low back and tailbone pain for 2 years. One dr diagnosed with fibro, another thinks I have…

Serum HE4 marker for recurrent endometrial cancer
I know many people on this board are not being measured for serum HE4 or their doctors may not be familiar with it. Both HE4 and CA125 are blood markers for endometrial cancer. I am tested for both markers as part of my ongoing follow-up treatment. Below is an article published by the NIH that explains what this marker is…

So confused about what to eat during chemotherapy
I had my first chemotherapy on 10/31 (Carbo/Taxol for now and Avastin will be added starting next session). I did not experience any major side effects so far so I am grateful. Even before the chemotherapy has started, I put myself on a pseudo-ketogenic diet, very little carbs, no sugar, no fruit, lots of vegetables, some…

Probiotics
I know this subject has been bought up before, but most of the threads are older. Which ones would be the best to use for chemo patients? Amazon has a whole bunch, but I have no idea which ones are better. What should I be looking for? Or should I go more with kefir, yogurts, etc.? Go the natural route? So far, diarrhea…

Uterine Papillary Serous Carcinoma (UPSC): any others here???
I was diagnosed with UPSC, and had a total hysterectomy and 25 lymph nodes removed for staging 2 weeks ago. The cancer had penetrated into the 2nd half of the uterine wall and into 1 fallopian tube, but my cervix and ovaries (all cut out now) were clear. One of the 25 nodes removed showed microscopic traces of the cancer,…

Bladder mass NOT CANCER!!
Went to urology yesterday and had cath removed. Didn't see doc, but nurse said path report stated no cancer! I go back in two weeks for follow up. Now saying that, I have to admit I'm absolutely mentally exhausted. The waiting and the unknown can really mess with you. I want to thank y'all for the kind words and support.…

Thankful to be ALIVE and keep FIGHTING
Living a positive life is for free! I’ve lost a lot of friends with different form of cancer. They died young 30-45 years of age. I feel bad because they don’t deserve to die at an early age. Now that I’m one of the people that belongs in C group. I want to tell my late friends that I now understand how they felt or feel.…

How to date?
So I am single and I have cancer from which I will most certainly die, probably sooner rather than later. Nevertheless I am still not ready to hang up the spurs where love and sex and dating are concerned. I'm just not really sure how to go about it. I would love to hear what you ladies have to say and what your…

New here, and confused as anything.
My story started mildly ... post-menopausal pink stuff after strenuous exercise. I have a prolapsed bladder AND fibroids, plus I didn't hydrate properly. Bad, bad idea. At first, since I'm prone to kidney stones, my family doctor thought I had those. My kidney function was indeed impaired. She suggested Poise Impressa for…
