SALLY: about the brachytherapy
One other new tidbit I came away with from my appointment with the new gyn-onc: Apparently there are more than one kind of vaginal brachytherapies. I had no idea there were different kinds. My gyn-onc said that I had been given the very latest and least damaging of brachy-therapies. I looked on my appointment sheets for…

NED unexpectedly !!!!!
Today, I saw my dr. for post chemo consultation. When he walked in and asked me how I was doing, I said "the rapture did not take place as predicted last Saturday, but I feel like I am facing my judgment day today". He said, well, your CT/PET scan is completely clean! I did not expect this. I went in there bracing myself…

what a great (if inadvertent) sisterhood here
Hello, all-- I've been lurking for a few months, checking out the threads on complementary therapies and appreciating the insight and wisdom shared here. Most of the time, I haven't felt "qualified" to jump into the dialogue, so I guess I've been a sort of free-loader for a while. But in the past couple of days--prompted,…

Chemo number 6 ( really 12)
I had my lab drawn on Tuesday, so I could get my CA 125 results. They only run them on Tuesday. My marker did not drop like I had hoped. It was 56 and now it is 50. The doctor in Florida told me my "new normal" may be higher than 35, so maybe this is my new normal. I know I should be thankful for a drop, but I wanted below…

Uterine/Cervical Cancer stage 4

Lymphedema??
I developed ankle swelling (both legs) shortly after my last chemo for breast cancer. This was in October. Oncologist gave me Lasix which really didn't work, so I stopped it. It got better on its own. I went about my business and was at my primary care's office after the first of the year and I complained about the ankle…

Integrative Medicine -Looking for other Cancer Survivors Utilizing Anti-Cancer Diet and other Integr
I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer last year, had surgery and radiation and was told that the cancer had not spread beyond the unterine area. However, I went to the doctor at the end of December for bronchitis, had a chest x-ray, and they saw spots on my lungs. This led to CT lung scan and lung biopsy. Endometrial…

I have no marker with the CA125 test
I have no CA125 test as a cancer marker. I had a test done last July and it came back 7. My gyn. said it looked like nothing wrong but sent me for a ulta sound inside and outside. That showed that my uterus was a bit thick and he suggested that I have a D&C and a lapro. surgery. When they got in with the lap. they found…

Low hemoglobin
Does anyone have any suggestions about how to keep your hemoglobin from dropping? I'm having a tough time keeping mine at an appropriate level. I need to do this without transfusions so that I can continue on my medicine. Also, I'm trying to transition to the Anti-Cancer diet. I appreciate your help.

Thank God Linda, you give all of us hope. You are surely not only thinking of yourself but all of us here!!!I am kinda sad my friend who was diagnosed last July with Lung cancer passed away this weekend. The challenge of "living joyfully in the NOW" when you feel like crap
I have been so blessed with an excellent quality of life throughout my cancer journey, and find myself, following this radioembolization on Wednedsay, feeling lousy. I am uncomfortable (gassy) and jazzed up on steroids and sleepless. Food tastes way off, and though I am diligently force-feeding myself healthy foods, I have…

What a difference a year makes
July 1 marks the first anniversary of my hysterectomy; May 11 my partial mastectomy. Prior to that, I didn't even know the word stage or grade or how many different types of both endometrial and breast cancers there were. What an education I've had. Just received news this evening that a friend's endometrial biopsy…

Off topic news about my mother's recent cancer diagnosis
I am not sure that this is an appropriate place to post this message, but I have come to love the women on this board and to respect their opinions about cancer diagnoses and treatment more than those of anyone else. The background of my current concern is as follows: I was adopted a few days after my birth. About a decade…

endometrial cancer
I was just diagnosed with endometrial cancer and am anxious about what I should expect. I know I need a total hysterectomy, but how do they determine how far your cancer has progressed? Does a grade 1 mean most likely you will be stage 1? The doctor is not doing surgery for another five weeks, should I be concerned with…

Strength for those going through cancer
This is my first post on CSN. I wish I had found this site a year ago because it probably would have helped me cope a little better to talk with other cancer patients. I am currently in remission for almost one year. My cancer was found when a D & C was performed. I had a hysterectomy and it was found that the cancer had…

Surgery delayed, having a hard time
Just got a call that my surgery is being delayed 10 days because the DaVinci unit will not be available until then. This after my gyn/onc specifically said he did not know for certain that he would even do the surgery robotically. I had just gotten myself to the point where I was fairly calm -- "It will be what it will be"…

Round 5 of Chemo completed
I had my two long days of chemo on Wednesday and Thursay. 8- 4 one day for the Taxol infusion, and 9- 4:15 the second day for the Cisplatin infusion. Luckily both infusions went well with no reactions. They used the same pre-meds as last time. Lots of Steroids. I went Tuesday for my lab draw, as they only run the CA 125 on…
