ANYONE WITH UPSC NOT HAVE A RECURRENCE????

sisters,

just began wondering if anyone here who has upsc--whatever stage-- has not had a recurrence. would be great to hear from those of you who have not. i know other uterine cancers recur as well, unfortunately, but specifically asking about those with upsc.

    Checkup Today
    I just returned home from my checkup--had internal and pap, and the doctor said I am doing "great." My CA-125 was 4. Provided that the pap is fine, I am still doing well and PLAN on doing well for many years.

    I really appreciate your comments. Yes, I am feeling very happy; but I find that sometimes I get so nervous before the appointment that it takes a day or two for good news to sink in.

    As for my dog, I'd like to think that she was especially happy to see me when I arrived home (the truth is that she was looking for her next meal).

    I am really looking forward to the arrival of warmer weather. Although I live in NYC, my section of Brooklyn is called Carroll Gardens--and there actually are gardens! We have cherry blossom, mimosa, and dogwood trees that should soon be in all their glory. Also, my next-door neighbor, with whom I am great friends, gives me tomatoes, eggplants, and zucchini; and I return to him a container of caponata. I love spring. e.e. cummings has a line from a poem that says:

    wholly to be a fool
    while spring is in the world
    my blood approves

    My feeling exactly!

    So pleased your examination was OK - I am sure the PAP results will be OK too. What a great CA125 score!
    I love your descriptions of Spring in Brooklyn. It's Spring in England too with beautiful blossom and daffodils, but the weather has deserted us today - cold, wet, windy and dark!

    My partner cancer free
    Hello!

    My partner was diagnosed at age 42 with stage 3C uterine cancer. She is at almost 3 years (in September) cancer free. Her last chemo treatment was 3 years ago in September. She just had her 2.5 year check up on Monday. Her CA125 blood test came back as 8 yesterday!

    I remember searching the internet for hours in that first year looking for positive stories with such a dismal prognosis. We made a promise that when Claire got through this we were going to do eveything we could to get the word out that there is hope!

    Now I find myself looking for when recurrances usually occur so I can feel like we are past it!

    BUT, I also find we have days where we don't think about it at all! That is amazing when you know how this thing dominated our life.

    Hi Maggie, I HAD stage 11B grade 3 uterine w/ sqamous cell at the top of the cervix so I had radiation and chemo at the same time and I only missed the last 2 weeks at work----IN 2005/2006 It was not a good time!!
    My gyn/oncolo said I might have some other cancer but not because of this? Now I have procticolitis(radiation damage)that is making me very unhappy. I found another lady who asked about this so I'm going to see if I can find her. Be good to yourself and know we are with you. I'm glad I found this group as I am from a train wreck of a family where my single mother w/6 kids was paralyzed from the waist down when I was 14 so I was not allowed to NEED ANYTHING and so I brushed my fight with cancer aside as well. I never talked about it to anyone before, so here I go. Thanks to all you for being the save place I can go to.

    Proctitis from radiation damage

    Dear Marsha,

    I have seen some research suggesting that even AFTER this damage is incurred, daily vitamin E succinate (400 milligrams, three times a day), vitamin C (500 milligrams, three times a day), and Vitamin A with mixed carotenes (10,000 to 20,000 mgs a day) can help to repair the damage.

    I would check out the web site of Life Extension for further information; yes, they sell supplements, but they also offer information on many clinical studies and have a good Board of Directors consisting of researchers and doctors.

    2 years= Did anyone have CA 125 go up and down past chemo?
    I just met 2 year mark this Jan. Hoping to meet the average & more..:l
    My CA 125 just jumped from 13.7 to 21.... hoping it stays the same for much longer time...this is what I didn't wish to see...hope it stays this way. I'm 2 years out & it stayed under 15 until now...

    Did anyone CA 125 go up and down over a period up time (ex. 1 year) and still be NED?
