In Oct 2004, his PSA started rising. Bone scan revealed nothing. Dr did freezing of prostate in Jan 2005. PSA kept going up. Another bone scan in Mar…

Is this a rising psa?
I had an rp on 7/25/03. 54 years old and psa 4.7. After rp gleason score of 7+ and cancer found on margins. Three months after rp - psa was 0.14 (they said they were getting the psa two ways - the old way of 0.14 and the new sensitive way which equated to 0.04). Psa went (new way) from 0.04 to 0.03 to 0.02 to 0.01 and then…

Ketoconazole and Hydrocortisone
I was diagnosed in Feb 2004 with PC and while undergoing RP, I learned that there was involvment in the lymph nodes. (at least one but they always assume PC spread to the others.) I was started on HDT (Eligard and Casodex) and PSA dropped from 31.2 to 0.2 and remained low until Oct 2005 when it started to rise to 0.8 then,…

incontinence pads
Thank God my incontinence is very minor at this point. I'm still using the same pad I started out with, Serenity for men. They are very good but way more than I need now. I'm at one pad a day and it never even comes close to being saturated. What are some good light pads to use? I think it won't be too long before I won't…

Rising PSA after RP
I had the wonderful RP surgery one year ago and thought everything was fine. My PSA rose to .2 in June 05 and is now .7. I had my initial consult with a radiation oncologist today to discuss treatment options. Right now it appears radiation is the treatment of choice for someone like me -- 42 years old with a post surgery…

My Dad
It's been a long time since I posted here. That's a good thing since it means my dad has been doing okay. Unfortunately about 6 weeks ago they placed my dad into hospice care. So there really are no more options for him. I have appreciated the responses and information from those on here. If anyone ever gets to "limited…

expressing yourself does make a difference
I know sometimes when you have cancer especially this cancer that it all seems so pointless telling a bunch of strangers how you feel and what you are going through. Back to Work
It's been exactly a month since surgery and I'm eager to return to work. I worked harder cleaning the yard at home this past week than I ever do on the job. I think I have the stamina. Ok, the truth is I don't actually work, I manage a restaurant. This does not require any physical labor from me. I have great employees who…

What do I do? I did it. So take note. Robotic laperscopic is great.
Before the week of Feb 3, 2006 I was set to do a robotic laperscopic surgery. I asked the chat room what were their thoughts because I was diagnosed with a 6 gleason, and had been watchful wating for almost 2 years, averaging psa's between 4.5-5.1. I had mixed emotions and was thinking to still wait. For those who…

Kegel Exersize
I am a little confused by conflicting information I read on this discussion board. I read where I should begin the kegel exersize prior to surgery. I did this half heartedly because my Doctor said it was of little value prior to surgery in his opinion. I have read where I should begin immediately after surgery. Does this…
