update: chemo options/clincial trial
I met with a senior gyn oncologist on Friday. I can't remember everything he said but I left his office feeling good. Not as worried as I have been recently. He said I shouldn't be too concerned about going into remission. He seemed as if going into remission was no big deal. I didn't think to ask if he was acting that way…

PPC & Diet
Hey, anybody have any recommendations for nutritional changes that support staying healthy after PPC diagnosis? Just came across somebody who recommended coenzyme, bovine cartilage and wheat grass. Doesn't sound good, but wondering if anyone has done this or something else to hopefully stave off recurrence? thanks McE

Good News!
After experiencing come cramping and pain on my left side, my oncologist ordered a CT scan...thankfully, there were no signs of cancer! In addition, my CA125 has been holding between 13-15 since February. The anxiety I experienced while waiting for my results was crazy... it just shouldn't have to be this way. It has been…

I know just how this guy feels...
In whatever kind of a “race” life may be, I have very abruptly become a finalist. That's from a Christopher Hitchens essay about his Cancer diagnosis. Hitchens goes on to say: The oncology bargain is that, in return for at least the chance of a few more useful years, you agree to submit to chemotherapy and then, if you are…

Mine was at 111 before surgery and then down to 7.2 and I have been holding at 5.2. pet/negative and I feel great. Has anyone else ever had…

NEW RESEARCH RESULTS: Trabectedin Plus Doxil in Relapsed Ovarian Cancer
These research posts are technical and hard to understand, but I post them because they do suggest options worth mentioning to your oncologists. Translation of some of the abbreviations they use in cancer research: OS = overall survival PFS = progression free survival (either on or off treatment, not necessarily remission)…

Still nervous, but have some positive news
My mom was diagnosed with Stage III/IV Ovarian Cancer on May 4th. The reason its split, is because there were signs pointing to both...Anyway when she was first diagnosed she had a CA549 now it is CA129. I'm not exactly sure what that means, but I hear it's good. Life has pretty much been going on normal since she has…
