Update after delay of contact
Hi all, It's been quite awhile since I sent any updates. Like quite a few that have posted, I don't know what to say, or am reluctant to put it in words--or I don't know; just doesn't seem so bad, compared to what others are going through ----Just had my Rituxan Wednesday, 9/19; I'm currently on maintenance Rituxan, every…

John..(Cobra666...caught your fish!!!
Hey buddy... I caught your fish this morning...it wasn't a "big salmon" like I wanted, but a nice 7 pound steelhead will have to do. I caught a 12 pounder also, but it was wild and had to be thrown back :( Anyways...I'm so glad you are home and now finished with your Rituxan maint. When is your follow up scan? Mine is in…

New around here
Hi all-- I was recently diagnosed and undergoing R-CHOP treatment. So far, it has really been quite a roller coaster.. the chemo is kicking my butt. I hate it.. but I digress.. Recently, I had my "mid-treatment" PET scan before my fifth R-CHOP. While the mass has gotten smaller, there is still activity. It went from a big…

the opposite of snark
surprisingly, despite all the temptations (politics!! the internet!! the newspaper!!) to indulge in a large and loud bout of cynicism, this quote grabbed me today: "...Happiness is not happiness unless it is shared. For happiness is the one thing in all the world that comes to us only at the moment we give it, and is…

add another doc to the list
My doctor agrees with me that the rituxan isn't working. So next Friday I have an appt with my radiation onc. Hopeful for less than 3 weeks. Cancer Sucks guys. But at least lymphoma responds to radiation well. Maybe give the armpit a break. thanks for all the good vibes!!!

New picture...
Hi Guys, I posted a picture(expression gallery) of where we stay on the river...it's really a beautiful area! Tonight I stood out on the deck and the moon was straight across the river and was the most brilliant bright orange I've ever seen. We were told the bright orange color is caused from all of the smoke in the air.…

Has anyone participated in a clinical trial at the NCI/NIH campus?
I would love to hear your experiences. It's been suggested my husband might be a good match for a clinical trial being held at NCI/NHI here in DC. He is still in the staging process although they "suspect" he has an indolent type of MCL. We will know more after BMB (today...I hope it's not terrible!) and PET scan next…

Hopefully last treatment for a while
Oncologist said that my last 6th treatment w/RCHOP, rituxan and the shot will be my last until he does another PET scan, CT scan and heart monitor on Oct. 26th. Praying that it will be fine. This last treatment has put me down for the count. Dr. told me to expect this since my treatments have really been harsh. Don't know…

Hello Dearhearts Well, I am now home after spending Saturday night in the ER and transfered to a hospital room. Things started getting scary on Sat. around 10 pm. Blood Tests
Good Saturday Morning Everyone, I had my scan on early part of July and it was good. So I was so happy for that. Then at the Oncologist office they did my cbc and my white count was 4.8 which finally I was happy with. And my rbc was 4.33 and platlets were 134. I thought I was in the range of things. Well I am on blood…

Mediastinal Mass - NHL Chest Area
Hello, I was hoping I can get in contact with survivors. I was diagnosed in June with NHL mediastinal mass on my chest area. I had 5 r-chop therapies, my 5th one was today and it went well. Hopefully, it stays this way. I did not feel vomit or nausea as much for the first 2 treatments. My 3rd treatment was the harshest and…

Scared
Hello Dearhearts I am scared of tomorrow. I must sound so silly, but I really could use your advice. I have had many many transfusions in the past, but with a different doc taking care of me and setting it all up. Every time I have received a unit of blood, I would receive as a pre med, tylrnol and i.v. benadryl. Then…

I had pain in my lower spine and hip area and that alerted me to find someone to diagnose what it was. It was a surprise because I was being diagnosed with arthritis, sciatica, and a host of other…
