In the home stretch...
hi Carol,
Congratulations! Praying that your scans and tests all show the big R!
I get my sixth chemo on October 2 & 3rd. I'm getting Bendamustine/Ofatumumab. Will have my testing at the end of October as well. My doc already knows I'll have maintenance for 2 years. Ofatumumab every other month.
It is so exciting to finally get to the end of the treatments! They do take a toll on us that's for sure. I'm looking forward to getting back to some kind of normal (new normal) after. One of the first things I want to do is visit my brother in Florida. I'm 60, he's 74 and we plan to go to Disney to celebrate! He beat head and neck 4 years ago and lung cancer this year!!
Hope you are feeling better and resting. Keep us posted with your scans, etc.
Hugs,

Down for the count...
Hi Carol,
So glad to hear from you, and I'm super glad your last treatment is behind you! R-CHOP is a harsh chemo and from what others have said, it DOES beat you down. My chemo(CVP-R) was much milder in comparison, but it also knocked me down. It just takes time for us to get our strength and energy back, so be peaceful with yourself and give it time. I have a wonderful support group also and a very busy little granddaughter to keep my mind occupied. I'll keep you in my prayers for clean scan results next month. Keep in touch...Much love to you...Sue

Thanks Donna and Sue for the words of encouragement. It has been a week since my 6th treatment and I am still so fatigued and my bones and muscles hurt so bad that I am taking the pain meds that my dr. prescribed. Is this normal or am I just being paranoid? Trying so hard to be positive, but when you feel this bad it's really hard. Again thank you!0 -

Hi Carol,
Sounds like a pretty normal feeling after just finishing 6 rounds of harsh chemo. My onc told me it can take up-wards to a year before you start feeling normal again, and then it's a "new normal". I'm almost 2 years out from doing first line chemo and I still don't have 100% of my energy back. Have some aches and pains also, but we really can't expect to be pumped with harsh chemicals and come out totally unscathed. lease be patient with yourself and know it will slowly but surely get better. Much love...Sue

Carol,
The rituxan part of your chemo is cumulative so to still feel sick a week later seems normal to me. I would give it a few more days and hopefully it will ease up. But if not for some reason, a call to your doctor would be good. I think each treatment gets a little bit harder= I know mine do. Mine makes me tired and I hurt all over. But the worst pain I get is in my jaw! My entire lower jaw feels like I was punched or something for about 2 weeks! Crazy.
Praying for you every day.

Well, it looks like everyone was right. Crawled out of bed this am, but within a few hours was feeling so much better. Still have some pain and fatigue, but it is doable. Even fixed a big pot of vegetable beef soup. I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel. Now to get through my tests and I'll be so happy. We also planned a trip to Las Vegas in November with my Drs. blessings. Hope all is well with everyone.

So glad you've started to feel better. My chemo Bendamustine/Rituxan was much milder than R-Chop--but the fatigue after # 6 treatment was major!!! Fortunately, I regained my strength, feeling good etc.--gradually over time. But the first day energy returned was wonderful!!
Keep on with the positive thoughts and hope, pray that all reports will be great for you!!!
I haven't been on regularly for quite a while--miss the group and take such encouragement from everyone's support for one another---
