biopsy done
Hey all, thanks for encouraging the biopsy. Had it done yesterday and it was pretty simple. Recovery has been pretty easy so far, just tired. The surgeon still was emphatic that he feels strongly it's not cancer and the staff at the surgery center sang his praises saying that if he said it was nothing it was probably…

Terry's nails during and after chemo (ABVD).
Did anyone developed Terry's nails during and after chemo (ABVD). My Liver function is normal, my blood sugar is normal, but I still have that brownish color stripe on the upper side of the nail, My oncologist say it maybe from chemo, but not sure if it will go away. Any input about the matter is greatly appreciated.

Elevated WBC
Hi everyone, I hope and pray everyone is well or in the process of being well. I may not post often but i do follow each of the posts. I had CBC done yesterday to re-check WBC levels. They've been elevated for few yrs now. The last normal range I had was in 2010 (close to high end limit 9.2). He asked me to call him…

My Mom's Lymphoma
Hey So, yeah... this sucks. New to this site and new to cancer really. I am usually very well-written, but I am sure this will come across as a rambling stream of thoughts, for which i apologize. I just need to vent to people that I know will understand. Well, today is Sunday 11/10. My mom is 72 and she was diagnosed w/…

Is it cancer?
I know..we can't know until the biopsy, but, I hate waiting. Either way, I will deal with it. I just want to know, you know? On 11/5 I started having pain at the top of my thigh and groin. 2 days later the pain was still there and I noticed a bump, probably the size of a quarter. I had fevers and one night had chills. I…

Consultant on Tuesday
On Tuesday afternoon I'm seeing my haematologist. It's my 2nd 3-month review but brought forward at the request of my GP, because of an ongoing sore throat. Trying not to think too deeply about it - either the lymphoma is back or it isn't - but I would appreciate prayers and thoughts from now until then, please!

Another Delay
Hi all! I just wanted everyone to know that I've encountered another delay before my stem cell transplant. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to collect enough stem cells last week. They want a minimum of 2 million and after a total of 7 days of total collecting, I only have 1.5 million. They are reformulating a plan on Monday…

Wind in my Hair
I went for a port flush last week. We live in the mountains and my clinic is at the top of a steep hill. It is always windy up there. It was especially windy that day and as I walked across the parking lot I could feel the breeze blowing my hair (which is a whopping 3 inches long now). It felt so good and I smiled as I…

Gene Therapy
I'm sure most of you have read this by now but it's pretty cool stuff pertaining directly to most of us: http://www.nbcnews.com/health/gene-therapy-scores-big-wins-against-blood-cancers-2D11708740# (if link doesn't work then google: gene therapy blood cancer). My oncologist and others from Roswell are down at the New…

Recent Scan Results....
Hi everyone! I got the results back from my scan on Friday. The same lymph nodes are still enlarged but stable. He said I have one somewhere in my right side that I think is new, but I'm not sure of the exact location. (My online chart's not allowing me in today so I don't know any specifics from the report) So we're still…

Diagnosed and not sure what to do...
Hi everyone! I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease in August 2009. I remember the day like the back of my hand. I went through a lot of personal struggles after my diagnosis - I did not know where to turn to or who I could talk to. I wanted to share my fears with people, but I wanted to share them with people that…

Happy Thanksgiving
Seems like the holidays come faster every year - well for those of us over 50 . As usual with my family, Thanksgiving is three days away and we're not sure what we're doing yet but I'm certain some of us will converge somwhere - probably at my niece's in Virginia who has six children ranging from diaper age to senior in…

The Power of Your Mind & Attitude
Throughout my diagnosis of Hodgkins, I never allowed myself to corrupt my mind with the thoughts of death or disease. Not only did I defeat it on the drawn up time fram, but I would play golf after 8 hour chemo sessions. It is trully amazing what tthe human mind can do. The minute you believe you can demolish any road…

scared
I just had my port in today. I have a Ct, PET, and MUGA ordered for this week. Will the radiation/magnetic feilds be okay for my body to have with this port inside of me? Also concerned about my first chemo appointment. What will happen? How will it make me feel during? I know I need to stay positive and quit worrying, but…

next steps
Thanks for everyone's advice on the biopsy issue. I have (finally) heard back from the ENT and they said that the ultrasound shows increased lymphadenopathy and a new submandibular node. They didn't mention anything about any nodes decreasing, which my PCP had said so not sure what's what there... Anway, they want to see…

Up and down
Since I posted my first post about how low I was feeling, some things have improved. The depression/low mood has lifted quite a lot - I haven't felt the "being poured down a drain" feeling for several days now. I still have some anxiety, and have to psych myself up to doing things that were second nature to me before the…

A Question
Hello. I am a member who came on here awhile ago. I have had two clean PET scans, one in December of 2012 and one in July of 2013. My next scan will be in January. I am in remission for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Diffuse B Cell. My last chemotherapy of RCHOP was October, 2012. I have a question to put out there. I had been…

The waiting game...
Hi everyone! I am so sorry for asking these questions since I know I'm not the only one asking them. I also know you guys can't diagnose anything. I just feel like I'm driving myself nuts and I felt like I needed to talk to someone who understands at least a little. About two months ago after a workout I got extremely out…
