A little help with a brother, please?
So I'm working through the anxiety and depression, and, although sometimes I'm in a tough place, I know it's because I'm transitioning from being/feeling poorly to being/feeling well, and that brings its own anxieties. As does Christmas but pass on..... My kid brother (aged 53) has always been a bit gloom-prone. I'd have…

Anxiety, how do you deal?
Haven't posted in awhile due to no progress, but now my biopsy is coming up (Wednesday) and the anxiety is through the roof. For the past month I've been able to just kind of push off the worry but now that the surgery is upon me the reality is settling in. Every little thing I experience physically has me freaking out. I…

biopsy done
Hey all, thanks for encouraging the biopsy. Had it done yesterday and it was pretty simple. Recovery has been pretty easy so far, just tired. The surgeon still was emphatic that he feels strongly it's not cancer and the staff at the surgery center sang his praises saying that if he said it was nothing it was probably…

Did anyone developed Terry's nails during and after chemo (ABVD). My Liver function is normal, my blood sugar is normal, but I still have that brownish color stripe on the upper side of the nail, My oncologist say it maybe from chemo, but not sure if it will go away. My Mom's Lymphoma
Hey So, yeah... this sucks. New to this site and new to cancer really. I am usually very well-written, but I am sure this will come across as a rambling stream of thoughts, for which i apologize. I just need to vent to people that I know will understand. Well, today is Sunday 11/10. My mom is 72 and she was diagnosed w/…

Is it cancer?
I know..we can't know until the biopsy, but, I hate waiting. Either way, I will deal with it. I just want to know, you know? On 11/5 I started having pain at the top of my thigh and groin. 2 days later the pain was still there and I noticed a bump, probably the size of a quarter. I had fevers and one night had chills. I…

Consultant on Tuesday
On Tuesday afternoon I'm seeing my haematologist. It's my 2nd 3-month review but brought forward at the request of my GP, because of an ongoing sore throat. Trying not to think too deeply about it - either the lymphoma is back or it isn't - but I would appreciate prayers and thoughts from now until then, please!

Another Delay
Hi all! I just wanted everyone to know that I've encountered another delay before my stem cell transplant. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to collect enough stem cells last week. They want a minimum of 2 million and after a total of 7 days of total collecting, I only have 1.5 million. They are reformulating a plan on Monday…

Wind in my Hair
I went for a port flush last week. We live in the mountains and my clinic is at the top of a steep hill. It is always windy up there. It was especially windy that day and as I walked across the parking lot I could feel the breeze blowing my hair (which is a whopping 3 inches long now). It felt so good and I smiled as I…

Diagnosed and not sure what to do...
Hi everyone! I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease in August 2009. I remember the day like the back of my hand. The Power of Your Mind & Attitude
Throughout my diagnosis of Hodgkins, I never allowed myself to corrupt my mind with the thoughts of death or disease. Not only did I defeat it on the drawn up time fram, but I would play golf after 8 hour chemo sessions. It is trully amazing what tthe human mind can do. The minute you believe you can demolish any road…

I just had my port in today. I have a Ct, PET, and MUGA ordered for this week. Will the radiation/magnetic feilds be okay for my body to have with this port inside of me? next steps
Thanks for everyone's advice on the biopsy issue. I have (finally) heard back from the ENT and they said that the ultrasound shows increased lymphadenopathy and a new submandibular node. They didn't mention anything about any nodes decreasing, which my PCP had said so not sure what's what there... Anway, they want to see…
