Depression
This might sound stupid but how do you tell your doctor that you have depression and you need some anti-depressants? I looked all the symptom up on the internet and all of them matched what I feel like. I am the type of person that it is hard to tell others my feeling I keep them all in side. Some people just say to come…

I have been looking over the Primary CNS Lymphoma discussion board from the shadows for several months as my dad has been diagnosed with CNS lymphoma. He has had 3 treatments with DepoCyt via his Ommaya Reservior. These treatments lead to a headache the first day following treatment, then nausea & vomiting the second day…

Hair loss with ABVD
I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma stage 3A Oct 4 th 2013. I am currently on ABVD...minus the B because my lungs have not passed lung function test as I had pneumonia when this all started as well. They say however that won't effect anything. They also told me that I would lose my hair. I had hair down past the middle…

anyone have a healthy baby after adriamycin
I posted awhile ago about pregnancy and possible surrogacy, I had Hodgkin Lymphoma when I was 18, I am now 25. I am healthy overall but pretty much have been bombarded with all the possible long term effects from chemo/radiation. Acquired hypothyroidism, thickening on my lungs, iron deficiency, a clotting disorder,…

Exactly one year ago . . .
One year ago today, I finished my final round of ABVD and I'm so happy to say that so far everything is looking good! My friend gave me a bottle of champagne back at the beginning of the year and I didn't open it, but hubby and I are going to crack it tonight and celebrate. I am sooo grateful to have had a year free of…

Anxious and Afraid
So, I just got the email I’ve been dreading since July of last year… it's time for my sixth month PET scan. Words can't describe how anxious I am right now. I was diagnosed with stage 3A Hodgkin's Lymphoma this time last year. I've been in remission since July and these past sixth months of zero doctor appointments have…

The latest
It's sort of a "mixed bag". On Monday I had the bone marrow harvest where they drill into the hip bone to suck out the stem cells. Yes...it hurt! The good news is that we now have enough stem cells to proceed for the transplant. The last hurdle was the CT and PET scans which I had yesterday and today. I met with my…

Life Is Good
2 1/2 years ago I had good reason to believe I would not ring in 2014. Here it is, January 1, 2014. I am sitting in front of a roaring fire with my wife and two dogs, all of whom adore me, drinking 15 year old single malt scotch and eating the best fruit cake I have ever tasted. We all die but the real secret is to live in…

A little help with a brother, please?
So I'm working through the anxiety and depression, and, although sometimes I'm in a tough place, I know it's because I'm transitioning from being/feeling poorly to being/feeling well, and that brings its own anxieties. As does Christmas but pass on..... My kid brother (aged 53) has always been a bit gloom-prone. I'd have…

Diffuse large B cell lymphoma

She was given three…

Anxiety, how do you deal?
Haven't posted in awhile due to no progress, but now my biopsy is coming up (Wednesday) and the anxiety is through the roof. For the past month I've been able to just kind of push off the worry but now that the surgery is upon me the reality is settling in. Every little thing I experience physically has me freaking out. I…

biopsy done
Hey all, thanks for encouraging the biopsy. Had it done yesterday and it was pretty simple. Recovery has been pretty easy so far, just tired. The surgeon still was emphatic that he feels strongly it's not cancer and the staff at the surgery center sang his praises saying that if he said it was nothing it was probably…

Terry's nails during and after chemo (ABVD).
Did anyone developed Terry's nails during and after chemo (ABVD). My Liver function is normal, my blood sugar is normal, but I still have that brownish color stripe on the upper side of the nail, My oncologist say it maybe from chemo, but not sure if it will go away. Any input about the matter is greatly appreciated.

My Mom's Lymphoma
Hey So, yeah... this sucks. New to this site and new to cancer really. I am usually very well-written, but I am sure this will come across as a rambling stream of thoughts, for which i apologize. I just need to vent to people that I know will understand. Well, today is Sunday 11/10. My mom is 72 and she was diagnosed w/…

Is it cancer?
I know..we can't know until the biopsy, but, I hate waiting. Either way, I will deal with it. I just want to know, you know? On 11/5 I started having pain at the top of my thigh and groin. 2 days later the pain was still there and I noticed a bump, probably the size of a quarter. I had fevers and one night had chills. I…

Consultant on Tuesday
On Tuesday afternoon I'm seeing my haematologist. It's my 2nd 3-month review but brought forward at the request of my GP, because of an ongoing sore throat. Trying not to think too deeply about it - either the lymphoma is back or it isn't - but I would appreciate prayers and thoughts from now until then, please!

Another Delay
Hi all! I just wanted everyone to know that I've encountered another delay before my stem cell transplant. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to collect enough stem cells last week. They want a minimum of 2 million and after a total of 7 days of total collecting, I only have 1.5 million. They are reformulating a plan on Monday…

Wind in my Hair
I went for a port flush last week. We live in the mountains and my clinic is at the top of a steep hill. It is always windy up there. It was especially windy that day and as I walked across the parking lot I could feel the breeze blowing my hair (which is a whopping 3 inches long now). It felt so good and I smiled as I…
