Post hematology/oncology visit
I hope everyone is doing well. Had a long day.. Had my appt for chronically elevated WBC. Bottom line they drew blood to check for CML, Chronic myelogenous leukemia. She said I should not be worried, she doesn't thinkI have it, but at the same time there are people diagnosed at my WBC levels. Please Take care of yourselves.

LizThank you sweetie. Sending all the luck and prayers... I know from my Wonderful Dad how difficult the waiting is... I'm sure everything will be fine... Please let us know what the doctor says...
Regarding me: they just drew blood and she said she is looking for CML and the results will be in ~2 wks. Asked if I wanted phone call or appt for 2 wks later... I chose phone call, later she said I'll talk to you in a week, I guess they make the appt for 2 wks later to make sure the results are in... She didnt think I have cml but she doesn't have any other explanation for elevated WBC either... Since there have been pp diagnosed with cml at the levels I have, she wants to make sure.. It's odd the primary doc said WBC won't be elevated from stress, but the hematolgist/oncologist said it can be... Hugs back sweetie..I'll be out till evening but will check your post first thing when I come home...

Hi Dadysgirl,
I have been looking back and forth on the website and finally have some time to write. Like you said, the waiting game is the most excruitating part of the "finding out" or rather diagnosis. I do not blame you for wanting to know especially after what you went through with your father. I give you major props in actuality for being on top of your own health! One of the worse parts too is that everyone has a different opinion. You hear one thing from one doctor and another from someone else. Its difficult. One thing to remember tho, is that everyone is different with their symptoms, lab results and prognosis for any illness.
Keep us updated. Love, Michelle

Thank you Michelle. How are you and Kyle? I'm sorry I couldn't write back to your earlier message. There was another health issue I was dealing with and was feeling awfully sad. Will definitely let you know about my test results. I don't think I will have AML, but themn one never knows, sometime we are faced with someththaw that we'd never imagine we'd have to go through... Lots of love sweetie...
