Anyone have experience with Cancer Treatment Centers of America? Their approach of combining naturopath and conventional is appealing to me. I have a feeling that I'll be going for a 3rd opinion after my appt with onc on wed. Just trying to decide between conventional, ie Sloan Memorial or MD aANderson vs this place. I've…

Reply to Foxy.
Hi Virginia, I'm sorry to hear that you are not well, the flu is bad enough but to have asthma on top of it is seriously scary. I hate prednisone ,in some ways it is as scary as chemo,I hope you only need a short burst of it. I have been waking of a night gasping for air to. Unfortunately it is neither asthma or flu. I saw…

Of flinches and words...can we say 'rectum'????
Ok, now that I said it...not so bad, right? I am so happy that this word, along with it's cousin, "colon", is getting more play in the outside world. And it's all the semi-colons that refuse to remain part of a 'silent' group!!! If I ever questioned the advancement of cancer treatment...well, all I have to do is look at…

Amifostine? Ethyol? Anyone know?
I have my 'researcher' hat on. My sister's rad/onc has listed this as a daily pre-treat to radiation. It is an infusion that is given before rads to protect the dry mouth/sores. Some pretty hefty sides... The only usage I could find was for head and neck cancer...I'm wondering if this guy is going a bit over on patient…

Hooray...NED has a new partner!
Today I got the results from my first 3 mo follow up testing. The onc didn't expect to find anything but it's still great to get the all clear. This is the first part of my battle with cancer to go smoothly. But if I had to pick one out of what I've been through so far this would be it. Now all I have to decide is where I…
