Location, location, location
Wondering which parts of the country and world we are from. I'm Diane from Villa Rica, Georgia. That's about 35 miles due west of Atlanta and 24 miles to the Alabama border. Villa Rica is a tiny town and site of the first real gold discovery in the U.S. We sit on one of the largest remaining veins of gold but because the…

My scans are CLEAR!
I sure wasn't expecting to find out the PET/CT results today since the test was this morning. But my GI surgeon who did the rectal scope exam this afternoon told me that the results were in and they were clear. I nearly fell of the chair then and there and starting a naked happy dance–but I restrained myself– until the…

question for Emily and Scouty about juicing and diet
I did get a juicer and had a couple of questions...what is a good juice to start with for colon cancer? At one time I think you said carrots, romaine, apples (can't remember) and the big question is what to eat as a diet in between juicing? I am not even sure how much to juice, I know Donna said she juiced too much and…

Any hope for Stage IV with poor performance status?
My dad was diagnosed with Stage IV cc about three months ago. Apparently his cancer is very aggressive(he was feeling well, working on his kitchen remodel, and climbing ladders one week before dx!) and his doctor felt his tumor had not responded to chemo (he had three weeks of 5FU with oxaliplatin-one half dose and one…

A year ago today....
A year ago today, at the age of 38, I awoke from my emergency colonoscopy to find out I had colorectal cancer. A few days later, after a PET scan, we found out it was in the liver also. I have gone through chemo and radiation, 2 major surgeries; APR with a colostomy and a liver resection and another round of chemo. I was…

Good news - CEA dropping!
CEA was 2 after surgery. Then I had a steady climb. But to be fair I had a lot going on that could affect that. The day I started chemo 8.1 After tx#1, it only rose to 8.2 (early it was taking jumps of 2 every two weeks). After tx#2 it dropped to 3.6!!! I don't have results back from yesterday's blood work to see what I am…

Nudgie is out of town and asked if I would post a riddle today. Since last weeks went over like a lead balloon for the most part, I'll try this one instead. You know the rules, no Google or Internet searches allowed. What is it that when you take away the whole, you still have some left over? *Nudgie is NOT responsible of…

I hope I don't offend
When we first started this journey I was told my the nurse practioner that I could not make love to my husband without a condom, is this true for the two weeks in between? It is really miserable this way and very unfulfilling for me. How long does chemo stay in the body? and how would this hurt him? Patti No offense just…

Well I'm getting chemo right now and my oncologist stopped by to update me. She stated that my CEA was 1.5 which is good but I'm KRAS mutated so in the future my treatment options may be limited. Just Sittin' Here Alone at Home - Missing You and Thinkin' of You Tonight
Good evening, Everybody This is rather impromptu but as sometimes happens, emotions got the best of me and I decided to reach out to you this evening for a "touch." I'm not one for bearing my weaknesses too much but I was feeling particularly lonely this evening - cold weather has settled into Texas, the house is dark and…

An amazing group of people
I am sitting here at work and checking the boards, and I cannot beleive how wonderful and supportive you all are. I never thought that when I was diagnosed with cancer that I would stumble upon a network of people with the same disease, that can help and guide each other. I have been on another board since my DX, however…
